Super Bowl Turkey Pancetta Chili

Game day isn’t just about touchdowns 🏈 it’s about the food. Chili is a Super Bowl classic and this turkey pancetta chili is hearty, cozy, and crowd-friendly, perfect for feeding friends, family, or anyone who shows up hungry.

Ingredients
2 lb ground turkey
1 package pre-cooked pancetta, chopped
2 jalapeños, diced
1 sweet pepper, diced
1 banana hot pepper, diced
2–3 white onions, chopped
Garlic to taste
Tomato paste
Carrots, chopped
1 can corn, drained
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Chili powder
Salt and pepper
Stock, broth, or water to loosen

How I make it:
Cook the ground turkey, then set aside.
In the same pot, cook onions, carrots, peppers, and garlic until soft.
Add the turkey back in with pancetta and cook through.
Stir in tomato paste and spices.
Add beans, corn, and enough stock or water to get your favourite consistency.
Simmer low and slow until rich and cozy, the longer, the better.

Serve with all the toppings; guac, sour cream, cheese, chips. No rules.

Perfect for Super Bowl Sunday, cozy weekend eats, or feeding a crowd without overthinking it.

Save this recipe for later and tell me who you are cheer for tomorrow?

I fear I’ve unlocked a new personality trait.

Welcome to my new series where I make homemade ice cream for my family almost every week.

This week’s flavour started as a deep, rich chocolate ice cream with real vanilla bean. Then I swirled in @kraftpeanutbutter_ca for one pint because if there’s one thing we all agree on, it’s chocolate and peanut butter together.

The result is smooth, rich, not too sweet, and somehow tastes like frozen creamy chocolate pudding mousse. I’m not over it.

Recipe below 👇

And leave me your flavour ideas in the comments because this is officially a thing now.

🍦🍫🥜

Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream

Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups milk
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
Optional peanut butter for swirling

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until smooth.

Pour into your frozen @kitchenaid_ca ice cream maker and churn on low speed for about 15 minutes.

Transfer to pints, adding peanut butter if using.

Enjoy as soft serve or freeze for another 12 hours for a firmer scoop.

Four weeks out.
Healing well, taking it slow, and finally starting to see the other side of this chapter.

This body has been through a lot, and I’m proud of how it’s recovering. I still have so much to share about this journey, but for now I’m just honouring the process

🍒 details coming soon, but let me know if the comments if you have any questions about breast reduction and lift procedures in Ontario, insurance, my surgeon, the scars

APPARENTLY, DATE NIGHT NOW MEANS PAYING TO BE SCARED TOGETHER 😂🎃🧟‍♂️🎢 (sorry for screaming)

Halloween Haunt at @canadaswonderland is back, and honestly, I’m not mad about it.

You can take on The Conjuring: Beyond Fear, make your way through six haunted mazes, survive seven scare zones, or get your adrenaline going on the rides in the dark.

And because we need snacks before being traumatized, there’s themed Halloween food and drinks plus live entertainment throughout the night.

Basically, scream, eat, ride, repeat. It’s creepy. It’s chaotic and perfect.

If you’re planning a Toronto date night this fall, save this one.

And send it to your bestie who loves Halloween because you both need plans. 🎃👻

Dog walk? CloudCut.
Coffee run? CloudCut.
Couch, snacks, absolutely nothing on the agenda? Also CloudCut.

My new fall uniform is the @knix CloudCut collection. A matching suit that looks polished enough to leave the house, but feels soft enough to wind down in at home.

I love when fashion takes something traditionally structured and makes it actually wearable for real life.

Seriously soft. Endlessly wearable. Athleisure that looks like a suit.

Honestly, this is the kind of fall fashion I can get behind.

Cotton without the compromise.

Comfortable. Leakproof. Invisible under clothes. Honestly, what else could you ask for?

@knix Leakproof Underwear is now available in cotton, giving you the softness and breathability of cotton with the leakproof protection you already love. Perfect for everyday wear, busy days, periods, and everything else life throws at you.

Because I already have enough things to think about.
My underwear doesn’t need to be one of them.

I’m allergic to my puppy. And honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around that sentence. 🥲

Bagel came into our house in June and within days I started having symptoms I had never experienced before. It eventually became pretty severe asthma attacks, which was terrifying.

He’s five months old. 60 pounds. Sweet as anything. And apparently he has plans to become approximately the size of a small horse. 😂

So while everyone else is falling more in love with him every day, I’ve been quietly dealing with a whole mix of guilt, sadness, frustration and honestly, shame.

Because how do you explain feeling sick around something you love so much?

We’ve been trying to figure out what actually helps. Two @Dyson air purifiers. Prescription allergy medication. Daily vacuuming. Washing the floors constantly. Keeping things as clean as possible. Grooming him outside.

And I’m learning that I can love this dog AND be really frustrated that my body apparently did not get the memo.

I’m committed to finding a way for Bagel to stay exactly where he belongs: right in the middle of our chaotic little family.

If you have a dog allergy, did you find things that genuinely helped you manage living together? Tell me everything. I feel like I need the internet’s collective experience on this one. 🤧

Nine months without making sourdough and I’m honestly shocked I made it this long. 😂

I stopped baking while recovering from surgery. Then my starter and backup starter both went off.

I tried growing a new one.

It failed.

Then I remembered the dehydrated starter I had saved for exactly this situation.

A few days later, we’re back.

And now we’re on loaf number two.

My sourdough recipe:

150g active starter
350g room temperature water
500g flour
10g salt

Mix everything into a rough dough and cover.

Do 3 rounds of stretch and folds, 30 minutes apart. You’ll feel the dough get smoother and stronger as the gluten develops.

Next is bulk fermentation. I use the dough in a jar to track how much the dough has risen. In my humid Canadian kitchen, this usually takes around 10 to 12 hours.

Once it’s ready, turn it onto a floured counter, stretch, fold and shape the dough.

Place it into a banneton and refrigerate for about 10 hours. This is where you get that beautiful sourdough flavour and overnight fermentation.

Then comes the fun part.

Scoring. Baking. And finding out how perfect it comes out.

Follow along for the finale. 🍞
