Last weekend to visit @joost.pauwaert ’s ‘Hard Rain’ at Park ter Beuken in Lokeren, Be.

Joost Pauwaert - Hard Rain
13/06-27/09/2026
Park Ter Beuken, 9160 Lokeren -BE

The title refers to the well-known song by Bob Dylan, but does not convey a single, unambiguous message. The artist deliberately leaves room for interpretation: in a world where tensions are palpably present, he invites the viewer to give their own meaning to the image. The installation ties in with themes that frequently recur in his work. Pauwaert has a fascination with Napoleon, bombs, smoke and explosions. He takes objects that evoke a sense of threat and transforms them into playful, aesthetic and sometimes absurd constructions.

Thanks to @stadlokeren and @josrosseels for making this exhibition possible.
