✨ Today, on Giving Tuesday, I’m officially introducing…

𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 — a heart-led nonprofit dedicated to freeing animals from suffering through rescue, healing, and belonging.

My long-term vision is to build a sustainable animal sanctuary in Davao, Philippines, where:
🐾 rescued animals can heal and live freely
🐾 local caretakers receive stable jobs, housing, and purpose
🐾 the land is honored through eco-conscious design
🐾 animals, humans, and the Mother Earth experience restoration and wholeness

To begin building this mission, I’m raising $𝟒𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 to fund our first year of foundational work — including operational systems, legal structure, community partnerships, startup costs, and a modest living stipend so I can devote myself to this mission full-time.

And because animals in the Philippines need help now, a portion of this goal will go toward supporting @pawssionproject . Their sanctuary in Bacolod was severely damaged by Typhoon Tino, and together, we can help support up to 𝟏𝟐𝟎 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬 within the next year with nourishment, medical care, and safety as they rebuild.

Together, we’re 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 — providing urgent relief today while laying the foundation for the future Barkada Paws Project Animal Sanctuary. 🏠

This is just the beginning — and I’m so grateful to finally share it with you!!

SHE'S OFFICIAL. 🥹🎉
Barkada Paws Project is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!

This means:
🐾 Your donations are tax-deductible
🐾 We can apply for grants
🐾 More resources to help animals in need

But honestly? It means so much more than that.

It means this dream I've been building — the one that started with a stray dog in the Philippines and a heart that couldn't look away — is real. It's recognized. It's growing. 🌱

So special that I got to share this moment with my husband, his brother, and our girlies! 🐶💕

I couldn't have gotten here without every single one of you who believed in this mission, shared our posts, donated, and cheered us on.

This is just the beginning. Thank you for being part of this journey — we're doing this TOGETHER. 🤍✨

Beyond Survival: Because animal welfare should mean more than survival. 🇵🇭

What started as a desire to rescue animals has become a much bigger mission.
As I’ve learned more about the challenges facing stray and impounded animals in the Philippines, I’ve realized that creating lasting change requires more than good intentions.

It requires understanding the systems in place, listening to communities, building relationships, and working together toward humane solutions.

This November, Barkada Paws Project is taking an important step forward with our first Philippines Research & Planning Trip.

We’ll be learning from local animal welfare organizations, exploring opportunities for collaboration, and researching ways to support preventive care, humane alternatives, and our long-term dream of building an animal sanctuary.

We’re raising $8,000 through our Beyond Survival campaign to help make this work possible.

This is just the beginning, and I’d love for you to be part of it.

BARKADA IS ONE!!!! 🥹🎂🐾💛

WHAT?! A whole year!!! 😭

A dream I’ve carried for most of my life.
An idea I spent years wondering if I was actually capable of.
And one year ago today, something I finally decided to just GO FOR.

And wowwww. What a first year it has been. 🥹

The animals. The people. The partnerships. The fundraisers. The walks. The lessons. The happy tears. The omg wait… we’re actually doing this?! moments.

And my favorite part of all — the Barkada that has formed around this dream. 🫶🏽

Because this was NEVER meant to be something I built alone. And watching more and more people believe in this dream with me has been one of the most special parts of this entire year.

And we’re only getting started!!!

The dream is still BIG. One day, Barkada will have our own animal sanctuary in the Philippines — a place where animals can heal, feel safe, be loved, and know they belong. 🇵🇭🐾

There is soooo much to build between here and there.

But TODAY?! WE CELEBRATE!!! 🎉🎂

And obviouslyyyy I had to make a birthday wish. 😌

🎂 Give $26 for 8/26 — or any amount meaningful to you — and help us head into Year Two ready to help even more animals.

AND!!! We are currently at 117 / 120 animals impacted toward one of our very first goals. JUST THREE MORE!!! 😭🐾

So… can our Barkada get us to 120?! 👀

We’re celebrating + fundraising through the end of August, so come celebrate with us however you can — donate, sponsor an animal, share our story, tell a friend, or just keep cheering us on. 🥳

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY, BARKADA!!! I LOVE YOUUUU 😭🎂🐾❤️

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY! AND HAPPY GOTCHA DAY TO OUR SWEET SWEET @pennythepups

117 / 120 🐾

When we started Barkada, we set a goal to impact 120 animals ... and somehow, we’re only THREE away. 🥹

Through animal sponsorships in the Philippines, volunteering with shelter animals here at home, community events, and every opportunity we’ve had to show up, we can proudly say ✨our Barkada has impacted at least 117 animals in the Philippines, with even more touched through our community and volunteer work.✨

Over the weekend, another sponsorship brought us to 117 with Tisay, one of very few animals who survived a fire in Talisay, Negros. Today, she’s safe and receiving the love, care, and medication she needs with @pawssionproject 🐈

And the timing feels extra special because…

@barkadapawsproject turns ONE on Wednesday. 🎂

Can we reach 120 before we turn 1?!

Just 3 more. Who’s going to help us get there?!
