@small_but_mighty_dog_rescue. Please consider a donation toward their capital campaign to create a much-needed barn/community center. You can read on their Insta and FB accounts about their tireless efforts on behalf of chihuahuas and other neglected and abandoned small dogs. Thank you for your generosity.

Nine to five has been unofficially named Dolly Parton Day in recognition of her legacy of kindness, caring, and acceptance of all. Dolly was a good friend to small dogs, including chihuahuas like the ones seen here. This Sept. 25, please consider a donation to a dog rescue like @small_but_mighty_dog_rescue, a (mostly) chihuahua rescue in SC, @tinypawsatl in Atlanta, or one of the many other reputable nonprofits in the Southeast. Thank you!

$56,000 in donated dollars from well-meaning dog lovers. BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHICH RESCUES YOU SUPPORT. If you're not careful, you may be funding scammers, frauds, and animal abusers.

Contact @rescueme_atl if you know what happened to any of these dogs.

This is so heart-breaking. And the silence from the involved shelters' administrators as well as the complicit "advocates" and networkers who allowed these dogs to be placed with Cane 9 Rescue says all we need to know about their true concerns--image over actuality, profit over care, meeting no-kill numbers (and being eligible for funding from places like Maddie's Fund and Best Friends) over humane trreatment.

This has got to change.
