Enjoying our last days in Vermont. Favorite hikes (working around fallen trees!). Revisiting a very muddy trail on the Appalachian trail that had a few sketchy stream crossings. I was lucky to have Blue to show me the way. New and familiar breweries. We even saw a show @westontheater. I’m never disappointed at that theater. Amazing musicians. I’m back! Working on new stuff and reworking old stuff. It all sounds different on my new hip. Hope to see ya out there while I’m working on my stuff. I have now performed comedy at an open mic in Indiana. In my hometown. The only proof I have is this picture. I have no video or picture of me standing at the mic. My sister and a friend were there so you can ask them. I enjoyed myself and it went well. You will have to take my word. Imagine not having proof that something happened? Vermont calls this time of year “stick season.” So that’s what I’m gonna call it here in New York. Three months post hip surgery for me (Carl 7 months post accident) and we are slowly getting back to the trails. Once upon a time, a nice man gave me a treat. I think the nice man may be hiding in this tiny house. I am very good at finding people and treats. I’m not sure why he is not here. I would not have to do this if the people I live with fed me more. They think two meals a day plus treats is enough. X marks the spot. My first venture out on the town since my hip surgery. Very few other events would have led me out the door 3 weeks post surgery taking buses, subways and stairs. Carl bought the tickets-knowing how much I love the band. As John Doe said during the show, “Town Hall is probably the nicest venue X has ever played in NYC!” My favorite punk rock band. Total hip replacement surgery today at 8am. Released to go home at noon. It’s as if I went to brunch. No booze. But great drugs. I asked for a piece of my old hip (you wanna a piece of me?!) but bio-hazard rules apply so no go. Too bad. Woulda been a good soup bone. Too soon? Too macabre? Cutting too close to the “hip” bone?! Hip, hip away! Looking forward to more sinister hipster jokes. Send your jokes my way. Best joke gets special mention at my first open mic post-surgery!
