Some of you might know that I used to do a music project called Take To The Woods, but it has been dormant for some time now.

That said, after seeing how a musician that I have loved for years ( @alximrdch ) has repurposed his account to boost content about the war and genocide in 🍉z@, I hatched an idea to resurface that demo that @timemotheye generously recorded for me quite a few years ago to generate donations for the families I have been in contact with over there, since I can’t afford to donate as much as I would like to their campaigns (for food, water, medicine and safe crossings out of the country) with my income.

For the foreseeable future, any proceeds from my digital album sales at Taketothewoods.bandcamp.com will be transferred to a rotation of the fundraisers for the families I’ve come to call friends. I’ll post screen shots of sales and my donations on a weekly basis.

So it seems that the pregnant #stagmomantiscarolina that I found last year in my garden found a safe place for her eggs to hatch. This little honey hopped onto my hand as I was reaching for a lil clip to prop up a flopping #symphotrichumpilosum as if to say “oh hello neighbor!” We had a little visit, I told her to give my regards to her mama, and put her back on my garden potting altar work bench thing and here’s to many more generations of this native #mantid who will hopefully watch me work and live its little life alongside mine just like it should.

Gonna miss Ann forever. This trip was pretty special… the kids meeting a big chunk of my Baltimore family, crying like a baby in the audio visual embrace of Brian carrying the solemn but still mind bending torch of @darsombra …. Not to mention all of the other bands who kept us all feeling Shadow-satiated.

@shadow.woods.metal.fest will live forever if it’s up to us. 🖤 lotta key folks couldn’t make it but that’s the way it goes.

Hug your people and tell em how much they mean to you. Do it now. Also go make something.

This girl came to us 5 years ago today, in a cloud of heavy happenings and intense change. None of us saw her coming, and yet she has somehow always been inevitable. She is pure sass, spice, talent and sweetness. Ondine Ivy is the addition to our family who continues to blow our minds and remind us that the most potently healing gifts come to us when we need them most, often in a haze of uncertainty.

One thing is certain. She is my only niece and she is deeply and fiercely loved.

I cannot stop looking at photos of my new and long time friends (and some who were acquaintances before and closer now) from this weekend… near and far, local and global. What a magical party yall threw, @kyllacustomrockwear and @amonsoderberg

Your wedding is probably gonna live as legend and a milestone in the timeline for many of us.. new friendships, new perspectives, refreshing vibes that might have sparked renewed energy to cope with this insane world we’re living, loving, grieving and celebrating in.
