The next couple of weeks are your chance to catch @cryothemovie on the big screen, especially if you live in Utah!

On June 16th, we will be having our Red Carpet Premiere Event with the cast & crew.

Then it’s on to @desertscapeiff in beautiful Southern Utah, where Cryo will screen simultaneously with this year’s virtual @chattfilmfest.

Finally, on June 24th, Saban Films will release CRYO in these theaters (and possibly more to come) across the U.S.:

I didn’t expect an a capella cover of neo-soul song by @couch.theband to speak to me the way it did…

“Saturday” is an upbeat song about how hard it is to slow down when you’re constantly a day late and a dollar short, just barely squeaking by from deadline to deadline.

That has certainly been a theme of this past year for me, and is true for so many people navigating the hustle of multiple irons in the fire. When life and art imitate each other, you get an especially personal result.

Directing this video for @byunoteworthy meant a lot to me, and these ladies brought all of their passion and talent. I’m proud to have had to opportunity to work with such an incredible crew and ensemble, and to have made something for my alma mater.

Incredibly honored to have JAVA JIVE win the @mormonletters short film award for works done in 2025. This is The Association for Mormon Letter’s 50th year as an organization. It was founded with the specific purpose of fostering the production and study of quality creative work within our community, across many fields including literature, poetry, plays, and film.

It tends to be both risky and gratifying when fellow members of a minority community engage with your work, especially when the central focus of the piece is a comment on cultural shame. Really grateful for their flattering (and fittingly coy) citation.

Also humbled to have our work included in two other AML nominations for the @centerforldsarts—Mason Kamana Allred’s essay “The Body is the Message: The Promise of Mormon Horror”, which examines THE ANGEL, and The Center’s Advent Calendar, which featured a short story by @barrettburgin. by @barrettburgin

Co-directing THE ANGEL with my partner @barrettburgin has been the experience of a lifetime, and it’s unbelievably exciting to have our film released on @watch_alter on this week.

@barrettburgin is much more comfortable in the spotlight than I am. And what I appreciated most about working together creatively on this film was his care to make sure we were fully aligned on every decision. He’s often the voice between us, but he listens to my softer, more contemplative approach. We were completely unified on every creative decision in directing this film together.

Telling a story that explores themes within my faith background, incorporates pieces of my own ancestor’s history, and draws upon the horrors of personal lived experiences as a co-creator with the love of my life is a tremendous honor.

Self-promotion is not comfortable to me, but I invite you to watch our thoughtfully crafted film and allow the work to speak for itself. Any time I feel anxious about sharing it with any group or individual, all it takes is watching it again to remember that I stand by it completely, and am proud of what we made.

We couldn’t have done it without our fantastic cast and crew, and I mean that sincerely. It was an honor to have their expertise and trust.
