Selector Series returns Wednesday 10.14 as we welcome @profesito to the hi-fi to curate records for the evening.

PROFESITO is a San Diego-born DJ, artist, and event producer based in the Bay Area since 2013. He began his DJ career in 2020 as a host for Oakland’s online station Lower Grand Radio and would move to live sets in 2022. He has been the lead producer for the event series in CLB_INTRNCNL since its inception in 2023, also serving as its host in a monthly series on San Francisco’s HydeFM. Dedicating his craft to promoting global music, his vinyl selections span jazz, rock, soul, cumbia, and more from languages and countries all over the world.

Will be another night of great music and beautiful community. Join us!

Not to brag, but we’re your favorite bartender’s favorite spice shop.

Bar Shiru has been using our spices in their cocktail program since they opened in 2019!

This October, they’re going sweet and savory with the super briny Crossfade martini and effervescent Sun Goddess rimmed with our Paloma Sugar.

Our first collab with Umami Mart dates back to 2013: everyone’s cult favorite Umami Sea Salt.

13 years later, we’re celebrating with two perfectly spiced cocktails: The Shichimitini and The Umami Town, featuring two of our favorite umami-rich blends.

Roses on Adeline is our cocktail crush!

Their NOLA Old-Fashioned features our Herbal Coffee Tea Blend for a smooth, New Orleans-inspired tipple.

Grand Lake Kitchen has been our neighbor-besties for nearly 14 years!

For this collab, we pitched them a Gin & Tonic frozen cocktail using our Homemade Tonic Water Kit, and they delivered the most fragrant, tangy, boozy slushy around.

The esteemed chefs at Chez Panisse first toured our Grand Avenue shop in 2011, and have been using our spices ever since.

We’re honored to find ourselves on the menu of their new bar-next-door, Bar Panisse, in their expertly spiced autumnal Apple Old-Fashioned.

Wednesday 09.30 we are thrilled to welcome @mare.e.fresh to the hi-fi as part of season 13 of Selector Series.

Mare.e.Fresh is a DJ/producer based out of the Bay Area that combines a mix of cumbia/hiphop/reggaeton/and the occasional banda to create a blend of music aimed at making people dance. She is a part of the art collective Velvet Cloud Radio and an active member of Chulita Vinyl Club’s Bay Area chapter. Her DJ’ing is centered around taking up and harvesting space in which people can have fun and dance in through music.

Come out and see why Wednesday nights in Uptown are for the music heads. It’s always a lovely night of beautiful sounds and community energy.

SILENT SUNDAY 069: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Stevie Wonder’s magnum opus “Songs In The Key of Life”

We will be opening doors a little early this week at 3:45p and starting the album promptly at 4:20p. We expect this one to reach capacity quickly.

No talking from doors until 5:30p, no shaken cocktails during the featured album. Open until 10p afterwards.

For any first-timers looking to join us this week,
yes, we are strict about the no talking rule. And yes, whispering is talking. Like many things, it only works if we all do it together. And when we do it together it can be beautiful.

We will be spinning a very clean 1976 version of the album. We have the original 7” bonus disc, but due to the overall run time, we will be playing it after the no talking portion has ended.

We STRONGLY recommend detaching from your devices and screens during this listening session and letting the genius of Stevie wash over you.

See you Sunday for what will be a magical afternoon of deep listening and connecting with this timeless masterpiece.

Selector Series welcomes long time Bay Area selector and vinyl enthusiast@krisacupcake to the hi-fi this week.

Krisa spends her days as a park ranger and her nights behind the turntables. Her sets explore the soulful, eclectic sounds of the ’60s and ’70s— from girl groups to international grooves and forgotten gems from around the world. Expect a thoughtful selection of records and a soundtrack made for settling in with a good cocktail.
