POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
The fourth episode of Shabbat Unbound is out today!

Lecha Dodi with @mterlinchamp and @lexrofeberg — melody by @basbaslev!

We built something we've never heard before: a podcast that takes the Friday night Shabbat service and sets it completely free. One prayer per episode. Explored through song, study, and sacred conversation. No rushing. No skipping. Just Shabbat, the way it was always meant to feel.

Shabbat Shalom!! 🕯️

💙When we think of community here at LMPS, we think of singing together. And so we wanted to try something new: A virtual benefit song circle with some of our beloved teachers!

🎵Join Dodie Whitaker, Ary Solomon, and Batya Levine for an hour of music and community support. They’ll sing, and you’ll think about who in your life would want to support abundant Jewish music, vibrant singing culture, and transformative community-making. Or you can just come to listen :)

🌱We still have $43,278 left to raise to reach our $50,000 goal. If we do make our goal, then we can provide thousands of people with the nourishment of connecting with community, ancestral connection and song over the next 3-5 years. Nourishment that is so needed during times like these.Thank you for enabling this project to exist and grow, year after year. We could not do this without you.

Sunday, March 8th, 7-9pm | Newton, MA

Join us for an evening of song with Molly Bajgot, Marni Loffman, Batya Levine, and Adah Hetko and Levyosn. Let us come together to raise our communal voice for ongoing healing and transformation in Gaza.

Gaza Children Village was created by Palestinian-American Dr. David Hasan in April 2025 in response to the devastation of Gaza, and in particular the impact on tens of thousands of orphaned children. 🎶Join Batya Levine for this 3-part introductory series, where we will learn some of the standard Ashkenazi liturgy and melodies that are woven into the Friday night Shabbos table experience. Through the well worn practices of our ancestors, Friday night can be a time of deep connection with the Divine and with our people. Come learn traditional Ashkenazi liturgy and melodies to enliven and warm your Shabbos table. Link in bio to register!

Wow 🤩 I cannot wait for this! This past summer I became the Interim Cantorial Soloist at Kerem Shalom in Concord, MA. One of the perks (and joys) of the job is getting to coordinate a concert with beloved local musicians and friends to usher in the week of Shabbat Shira. I’m so excited to bring @anatmuse @basbaslev @richiebarshay and @yoniavibattat together for this evening of music and to build our collective setlist. Boston and beyond, join us for Wellspring Havdlalah Concert on January 24th, it’s going to be a treat! 🍬

🎫 Grab tickets at www.tinyurl.com/wellspring2026 or visit the link in bio 🔗

About:
Join us in welcoming the week of Shabbat Shira, Shabbat of Song, with Wellspring, a participatory Havdalah Concert, featuring Interim Cantorial Soloist Molly Bajgot and musical guests Anat HaLevy Hochberg, Batya Levine, Yoni Battat, and Richie Barshay. Like a wellspring, song, music, and communal singing is a place that we can continuously return to to reinvigorate our spirits, to reenergize our senses, and to fortify our hearts for confronting a deeply challenging and broken world. Together, our song leaders will lead us in original compositions designed to ground us, uplift us, and generate joy. taken in Kerem Shalom - Vineyard of Peace by @basbaslev

✨SONG AS A CHANNEL FOR BLESSING✨an in-person workshop with Batya Levine

🌀Drawing on the tradition of aliyot - being called up to bless and be blessed by the chanting of the Torah - we will interweave song with ritual in a co-created group space to call our prayers into the song, and call the song into our prayers. We will explore the concept of blessings, learn melodies, and have space to give and receive the blessing of song together.

🗓️Thursday, Dec 11
Arrival - 6:45pm
Workshop - 7:00-8:30pm
Temple Beth Zion | Brookline, MA

$10-36 sliding scale
No one turned away for lack of funds

Access info: TBZ is an ADA accessible building. This event is mask required, the leader will be unmasked while leading.

Big thank you to our local co-sponsors TBZ (Temple Beth Zion) and Kavod Boston!

A song for this upcoming day of mourning, Tisha b'Av 🤲 May we be held in our communal heartbreak for this utterly broken world.

Melody derived from the Ashkenazi trop (cantillation) for Eicha (text read on Tisha b’Av). Hebrew text from opening phrase of Eicha (sung in Ashkenazi trop). English and melody by Batya Levine.

אֵיכָה יָשְׁבָה בָדָד, הָעִיר רַבָּתִי עָם--הָיְתָה, כְּאַלְמָנָה
Eicha yashva vadad, ha'ir rabasi am haysa k'almanah
How is she sitting alone, the city who was once full of her people, how she is like a widow

Oh weary one, lay your head down and rest your aching bones on the ground
Oh fearful one, lay your head down and let your body breathe on the ground
Oh hopeless one, lay your head down and rest your heavy heart on the ground
Oh yearning one, lay your head down and sing your song into the ground
Oh rageful one, lay your head down and let your tears flow into the ground
Oh weary one, lay your head down and rest your aching bones on the ground
Oh Ancient One, as we lay our heads down, please lay with us on the ground

from Yivarechecha, released December 2, 2024 with Rising Song Records
