📢 FALL IN LOVE WITH THE WORK!

Western Kentucky Head Coach Marc Rardin has a message for players who want to separate themselves: You have to love the work as much as—or more than—you love playing the game.

When others take time off, keep working. When others get comfortable, keep improving.

Because the better you become, the more you’ll enjoy playing the game.

⛔️Don’t just put in the work when everyone else does.
✅Put in the work when they don’t. THAT’S how you separate yourself.

Already lifting and training? Take it to the next level. Be intentional. Be consistent. Keep getting better.

⚾ Nobody is ever going to tell you that you’re TOO STRONG to play baseball.

Stop waiting. Start working. Your future self will thank you.

🚨 PLAYING COLLEGE BASEBALL IS A PRIVILEGE. DON’T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

“If you’re getting recruited by anybody, you are in the vast minority.” — Patrick Robey, Head Coach at Belhaven University.

Too many players lose sight of how special this opportunity really is.

If a college coach is recruiting you, you’ve already accomplished something most high school athletes never will.

Whether it’s D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or JUCO, embrace the opportunity. Respect the process, appreciate the coaches investing in you, and never take for granted the chance to compete at the next level.

👉 Be grateful. Stay humble. Keep working. Make the most of your opportunity.

🚨NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAYING CATCH!

At every level of baseball, the little things matter. And playing catch is one of them. College coaches pay close attention to how players throw, move, handle the ball, and approach the fundamentals when they’re out recruiting.

It’s not just about how hard you throw. It’s about how you play the game.

Master the basics. They’re always watching. 👀

🚨 SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: DON’T PANIC!

👉 The recruiting timeline has changed!

Not hearing from college coaches yet? Take a breath. Yale Head Coach Brian Hamm explains why recruiting is happening later, with plenty of development and opportunities still ahead during your junior year and even into your senior year.

Stay focused. Keep developing. Trust the process. Your recruiting journey isn’t over before it starts!

💪 IN-SEASON IS NO EXCUSE.

Florida Atlantic Head Coach John McCormack delivers a message every serious athlete needs to hear.

If you’re committed to becoming stronger and faster, you’ll find a way to train - even during the season.

👉 Being in-season isn’t an excuse to stop developing. The weight room, strength, and speed work are still part of becoming the player you want to be.

🔥 The number one separator in athletics? Your commitment to getting better when others stop.

Don’t just maintain. Keep developing.

📢 PLAYERS: DON’T OVERLOOK D3 BASEBALL.

Division III has great coaches, great programs, great academic opportunities—and most importantly, great baseball.

Coach John Harvell of Christopher Newport University has had Division I players tell him, “I wish I would have come here first.”

👉 Why? Because at the right D3 program, you can play, compete, develop, and win against high-level competition.

Don’t get caught up in the label.

Open your eyes. Find the right fit. The baseball is legit.

📢 YOU’RE NOT ALWAYS GOING TO BE THE BEST PLAYER.

Connor Fennell, right-handed pitcher at Vanderbilt, talks about getting to the SEC and quickly realizing the level was different than anything he had experienced before.

He got lit up. He faced adversity he hadn’t faced earlier in his career.

And that’s the jump high school players need to be prepared for.

In high school, you may have always been one of the best players on the field. Then you get to college and suddenly you’re surrounded by players who were the best players on their teams, too.

The physical jump is real.

But sometimes the mental jump is even bigger.

👉 Tim Corbin gave Connor some simple advice:

📢 Stay in the middle.

✅Have a great game? Stay in the middle.
✅Have a terrible game? Stay in the middle.
✅Get confidence? Stay in the middle.
✅Face adversity? Stay in the middle.

👉 Don’t let the highs get too high or the lows get too low.

The two things you can control are your effort to get better and how you respond to what happens.

You’re not going to be the best player every day. You’re going to have success. You’re going to struggle. You’re going to face players better than you.

That’s part of development.

Find your middle. Keep grinding. Keep getting better.

That’s where growth happens.

📢 What are college coaches really looking for when they recruit an athlete?

Coach Brian Ham, Head Coach at Yale, says it starts with one thing: Are you competitive?

Not just in games.

✅Do you compete with yourself to get better?
✅Do you care about winning?
✅Do you care about everything you do?
And when it comes down to it, does winning mean more to you than your own personal interests?

👉Coaches are watching more than your stats. They’re watching how you compete, how you respond, and whether you make the people around you better.

Be the teammate coaches want in their program.
