🚨NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAYING CATCH! At every level of baseball, the little things matter. And playing catch is one of them. College coaches pay close attention to how players throw, move, handle the ball, and approach the fundamentals when they’re out recruiting. It’s not just about how hard you throw. It’s about how you play the game. Master the basics. They’re always watching. 👀 #BaseballDevelopment #CollegeBaseball #BaseballRecruiting #BluebookSports

THIS IS WHAT WINNING BASEBALL LOOKS LIKE⚾️ Everybody loves the home run. But watch how the Rays play. Put the ball in play. Run hard. Take the extra 90 feet. Put pressure on the defense. Force them to make another play. Jonny DeLuca talks about the competitive mindset behind a team that understands exactly who they are. You don’t always have to overpower somebody to beat them. Make them execute. Over and over again. SPEED NEVER SLUMPS That plays at EVERY level of baseball. 🎥 MLB / Tampa Bay Rays #bluebooksports #baseball #collegebaseball #mlb #baseballlife

📢 YOU’RE NOT ALWAYS GOING TO BE THE BEST PLAYER. Connor Fennell, right-handed pitcher at Vanderbilt, talks about getting to the SEC and quickly realizing the level was different than anything he had experienced before. He got lit up. He faced adversity he hadn’t faced earlier in his career. And that’s the jump high school players need to be prepared for. In high school, you may have always been one of the best players on the field. Then you get to college and suddenly you’re surrounded by players who were the best players on their teams, too. The physical jump is real. But sometimes the mental jump is even bigger. 👉 Tim Corbin gave Connor some simple advice: 📢 Stay in the middle. ✅Have a great game? Stay in the middle. ✅Have a terrible game? Stay in the middle. ✅Get confidence? Stay in the middle. ✅Face adversity? Stay in the middle. 👉 Don’t let the highs get too high or the lows get too low. The two things you can control are your effort to get better and how you respond to what happens. You’re not going to be the best player every day. You’re going to have success. You’re going to struggle. You’re going to face players better than you. That’s part of development. Find your middle. Keep grinding. Keep getting better. That’s where growth happens. #mindset #attitude #vandyboys #collegebaseball #baseballrecruiting

🚨 HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS: PAY ATTENTION TO THIS. Coach Brian Ham, Head Coach at Yale, gives great insight into how changes at the Power Four level are impacting recruiting all the way down the line. As Power Four programs take fewer high school players and prioritize the transfer portal, more high-level high school talent is becoming available to schools like Yale and other high-academic programs. That doesn’t mean recruiting is easier. It means the competition for those spots is changing. For high school players, the message is simple: ⚾ Develop your skills. 💪 Get stronger and faster. 📚 Take academics seriously from Day 1. 🎓 If you’re targeting high-academic schools, start preparing for the ACT/SAT early. The recruiting landscape is changing. Make sure you’re developing into the player and student those schools are looking for. #baseballrecruiting #recruiting #collegerecruiting #collegebaseball

POST-GRAD ISN’T FALLING BEHIND. IT’S AN OPPORTUNITY. For some student-athletes, a post-grad year can be the bridge between where you are today and where you want to go. A post-grad program can give you the opportunity to: ⚾ Get stronger, faster and more physically mature ⚾ Continue developing your baseball skills ⚾ Get more innings and meaningful playing experience ⚾ Improve academically and strengthen your college profile ⚾ Gain valuable time to develop confidence and independence ⚾ Give college coaches another year to evaluate your development ⚾ Find the right college fit instead of rushing into the wrong one The goal isn’t simply to play another year. The goal is to use that year to become a better student-athlete and put yourself in a stronger position for the next level. Don’t look at post-grad as a setback. For the right athlete, it can be a strategic step forward. #postgrad #recruiting #collegerecruiting #baseballrecruiting
