Basia Bieniek's paintings begin as gestures before they become images. In oil on canvas and linen, her brushwork moves in long, sweeping strokes, building form through motion rather than line. The result sits somewhere between figuration and abstraction, each canvas holding its shape only loosely, as if caught mid-air. It's a method rooted in discipline as much as intuition, and one we're honored to spotlight as we prepare to bring her work to Paris Design Week.

On view at Gallery Boketto for Paris Design Week from September 10. 14 Rue Thorigny 75003, Paris.
