A week ago, we closed our exhibition in Amsterdam – Material as Narrative.

Thank you to everyone who came by and supported us! A huge thank you to the amazing artists who showcased their work and shared their talent with us.

“Material as Narrative” explored the intimate language of texture, where surfaces transcend visual perception to become carriers of meaning and memory. The exhibition invited viewers to engage with objects as living, textured participants in a dynamic dialogue between material, traditional craft, and transformation.

Basia Bieniek’s work is her interpretation of consciousness and identity, weaving such motifs with the echo of memory and uncertainty. The latest body of work is based on feelings of discomfort, tiredness and weariness. Often hidden in dreamlike scenes, characters appear to be drifting without a clear destination, yet grounded in place, capturing their sensitivity and passivity. They seem to be at once stagnant yet transitory and continuously morphing.
