POSTS STORIES REELS

These slides gives a brief synopsis of our perspectives and experiences, countering the dishonest characterizations and blatant lies that have been spread as a result of conflict.

The text from each slide is in the photo’s caption. Image descriptions are also listed in this document along with our full, more detailed statements: tinyurl.com/WARNING4CCCHI

Text: Community Warning. Statements by a number of community members harmed by Reaux C.

Cameron’s TL;DR

R is deeply manipulative, a liar, an abuser, and a terrible person. They have abused me and many others in the community and they should be ostracized and known as such. Read and believe the statements of Ry, Mai, and Jinx. Let’s all work to keep the community safe and not allow R to continue to cause harm to people. Talk to trusted friends and community members if you feel unsafe or unsure about someone. We have a duty to protect each other.

Maimuna’s TL;DR

My former roommate R and I quickly became close friends, but conflict escalated when they decided their partner (of one month at the time), Taj Levi, would move in with us for 6 months. I initially said “yes”, tentatively, but said “no” a few days after because of the many reasons I elaborate on in my statement. R told me it was too late and tickets were already bought. After repeatedly saying “no” to both R and Taj Levi, I said I would have to go to the landlord. R retaliated by contacting the landlord first behind my back to renew the lease without me, refused to pay their part of utilities, gave me the silent treatment, posted about me publicly calling me a liar/abuser, poured flour on my belongings, and repeatedly turned the heat off in the coldest months of the winter.

Maimuna’s TL;DR Continued

I have a severe neurological condition (seizures, paralysis etc.) and felt unsafe, so I moved out in February. R and Taj Levi also moved out, but left me with a $655 gas bill (they’d cranked the heat to 78°F) and thousands in debt from the move and subsequent ER visits. I’m a bit late in posting this because i was a bit in my head about articulating the thought and care that went into this concept, but honestly…in true crip fashion, ima give y’all the best I can with what i GOT! enjoy this snippet of my scattered thoughts when first talking to @lo_cayne about doing this shoot:

the idea of crip fashion, especially in the context of the pandemic. a shoot that explores the breadth of my humanity without erasing the visual manifestations of my disabilities. so like keeping my elastomeric mask and cane as a part of the look and not as an afterthought. I have ideas for ways to incorporate aspects of the visual narrative into these devices that help me live instead of erasing them from visual narratives, especially as a Black trans and queer person when disability is so often depicted as being distant from Blackness, transness, and queerness.

Donations have stalled with Maimuna’s crowdfund. Their account is in the negatives. They were denied for Medicaid, and they want to avoid disrupting their continuity of care. As of now, maimuna is severely disabled without any health insurance.

An escalating FND flare up led to Maimuna taking an unpaid medical leave, during which his department was eliminated and he was laid off after already missing a month of income. Not only is this a loss of income, but this is a loss of medical coverage during a time when he needs it most.

Support is urgently needed TODAY! Please share with your networks! Hit me up if you have any connections to potentially relevant resources in the city.

Rest in power, and in the comfiest of california king sized purple mattresses with pampered by porsha sheets and a five course meal from virtue 🕯️✨

I’m still in disbelief, shock, rage, hurt. but I’m also just so grateful to have experienced BC as such a kind, compassionate, hilarious, brilliant, loving, creative friend. Truly one of the greatest friends of my adulthood. I don’t know that any other person has had such a significant impact in my adulthood and in my becoming.

Bri saw me in ways that helped me see myself (and others) with more compassion and clarity. Their vulnerability allowed me to see evidence of what’s possible, what’s tangible, what’s have-able. Every corner of every room memorializes their warmth. Every day has held 333 reminders of their charm, her commitment to collective liberatory pleasure, her impeccable voice and taste in music, our favorite Black reality tv quotes to speak in code, trips we’ve taken all over the country, shared rants about what the most recent verzuz battle has to do with the medical industrial complex, sitting and listening to audiobooks about healing justice together, shows we’ve watched together, her sharp comedic ability (like spending the week after we saw Black Panther barking every time an annoying white person started talking to us lol).

in all the rage and grief, there’s so much comfort in knowing their essence will live forever. her mark is everywhere, her smile cannot be forgotten. thank you so much to everyone I met through BC. thank you so much to all who allowed me to share BC with you. thank you to BC for holding me with so much care, generosity, and understanding. I love you so so deeply, sib. 🦁🐆

Please support BC’s family with associated expenses. Let’s pour the same generosity BC showed this world into her family so they can have the resources to breathe, grieve, rest, and be.

Words from Maimuna:
I’m disabled with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), and my symptoms worsened to the point where I had to take an unpaid medical leave. This week, my department was eliminated and I was laid off.

I have no income. Rent is $1,450. I need care work, utilities, food, and medical support.

I’ve started a GoFundMe to keep me housed and safe for the next 5 months. Goal: $15,000.

Link in bio.

If you can give, any amount helps. If you can’t, please share this post. It could reach someone who can.

find me where you find me, leave me where you got lost. 🗺️ (unfolded map emoji)

another month, another emergency. another day, another attempt to disappear us all. another reminder that we find, hold, and sustain each other.

please share + support my ongoing need for survival funds while going through this very demoralizing disability application process. I’m also super open to direct, tangible direct resources for *surviving* this process.

please support the homie in maintaining his freedom! legal defense needed in NY. we are all connected. where can we find each other? where can we hold each other? how have we sustained thus far? (keep that offline tho for them surveilly spirits)
