On the day Shaq met my original Basketball Cop crew back in 2016, he made them pledge to listen to their parents and do good in school. Today, I reunited three of the boys with Shaq. After learning that each of them had kept their promise to him, Shaq surprised them, telling them that he is buying each of them a new Audi A3! I love this guy. πŸ’™ by @basketballcopfoundation

Ok...ok... except for there being a basketball court in the background, this video has nothing to do with what we do. It is however funny as heck and is guaranteed to make you laugh. There is no way to watch it only once. Sound up.....πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ by @basketballcopfoundation

Too good not to share. πŸ™‚ ......

I wasn't gonna share this, but I thought of a couple cool reasons why I should.

I went to a fax machine 911 call AGAIN at a place we go to multiple times a week. As I was leaving, a lady maybe in her 30s and her grandma called out to me to ask me who does my hair. Lol I said "what, the gray?" They said yes and went on and on about how gorgeous it is. I won't bore you all with that but....

She also noticed my pink badge (for October breast cancer awareness) and told me I was awesome and that she wanted to be just like me when she grows up. I told her about my aunt who died of cancer, my friend Trish who has her own breast cancer battle and my beautiful Angel with her colon cancer battle. She started crying and said she just beat colon cancer. When I showed her my heart tattoo, she saw my semi colon tattoo and said the mental health is just about as bad as the cancer itself. We chatted, I hugged her and her doc came out for her.

My point of sharing is that if you see someone with nice hair, tell them. A cool shirt or pair of shoes, tell them. Some of us have pretty low self esteem so it may mean more than you know.

Also, you just might be the person to let someone know they aren't alone. She is sad and tired and looking for reasons not to give up. Maybe you have something to share to help them keep fighting.

These are my co-workers, Ofc Bivens, Ofc Velasquez, and Ofc Reeves. For the rest of our lives, we will all share the same pain/memories from a call we responded to together. One of those calls we wish we could forget. On that call, we met two young children whose lives were forever changed by this tragedy. Since that day, these three heroes have made it their mission to make sure that every time these kids see a cop, they don't think about that day. For about two years now, they have stayed in very close contact with the kids and have become sort of an extended family to them. Last month, because of your continued support of this foundation, they were able to take the kids to Disney World. One of them said that "It was the best day of his life." Thank you to every one of you who have ever donated to our mission of strengthening police/youth/community relations. These are the kind of efforts you are funding. πŸ’™ by @basketballcopfoundation
