September may be coming to an end, but our commitment to literacy continues. 📚

Every book placed into a child’s hands is an opportunity to learn, imagine, explore and grow.

As we close out National Literacy Month, BasKids remains committed to creating access to books, encouraging reading at home and helping children build a lifelong love of literacy.

The month may be ending, but the work continues.

We crashed #BackToSchoolNight at the AppleTree PCS Oklahoma Avenue Campus and stole the show 📚

20 kids. One story: “I Promise” by LeBron James. And a room full of proof that reading sticks when it’s fun.

Between storytime and jersey making, the real highlight snuck up on us: a dad hiding in the doorway at pickup, watching his son fully locked into a book. His words: “I’ve never seen him so engaged in a book before.”

That’s the impact. That’s why we show up.

Thank you to the amazing staff at AppleTree, and we hope to be back soon for another story time session!

We’re on the road 🚙💨 to another #BackToSchool Night ✏️ 🍎

Thank you to everyone over at @excelacademyps for welcoming #BasKIDS and allowing us to partner with you. We had a great time connecting with your staff, students, and their families!

It was a great night of discussing what excites young readers, how to encourage them to continue learning, and passing out free books to add to their at-home libraries.

There’s still more stops to make, so be sure to stay tuned!

We’re taking literacy to the house! 📚

What a way to celebrate International Literacy Day by kicking off our Back to School Night Tour at Gaywood Elementary.

We connected with families, met educators, shared more about BasKids, and gave out books to help encourage reading beyond the classroom.

And we’re just getting started. We’re looking forward to more school stops, more families, more educators, and more opportunities to grow a generation of readers.

Today, we’re celebrating the power of books, reading, and the moments that help grow a generation of readers.

Read 📖 Grow 🌱 Repeat 🔁

That’s the cycle we’re celebrating this National Literacy Month! Every book a child opens builds vocabulary, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning, and every page turned is a step toward closing the literacy gap in our community.

This month, we’re spotlighting the power of consistent reading habits at home and in school. Small daily moments add up to big growth. 💛
