Frost and Bite at Christmas is the NEW picture book from award-winning author Wendy Meddour.

Monsters Frost and Bite NEVER share so what will happen when the friendly Gobbits have a Christmas present for them?

With illustrations to match the cheeky rhyming text from @mikemoran_illo this is a great book to share with your little ones to get them in the Festive mood and make them laugh.

Congratulations to Wendy, Mike and OUP.

Hello! The Inkpot Collective have been sharing postcards to #frankfurtbookfair2026 this week. Here is an ever-so-slightly-Christmassy pic from me (too soon for Christmassy?!), and it's from one of the picturebook projects I've been working on lately. If you swipe a bit, you'll find a few pics from other projects too, some as-yet-unpublished, some published.

More pics at www.katiemaygreen.co.uk

Thank you Gill @Bathlitagency for kindly touting my wares!

Have a great weekend, whether you're in Frankfurt or Fairyland.

I have indeed been sneakily working behind the scenes with the fantastic @bbcbitesize team in creating one out of a new series of interactive stories designed to promote a joy for reading and encourage comprehension.

So without further a do here is my latest and first interactive picture book:

“Bigger than You” 🐜

I’ve absolutely loved being part of the team and seeing something I created come to life – a massive thank you to the animation whizz kid @fahimation_art for all his hard work and to the talented @rodneygoodenvo for giving my characters such a wonderful voice through his narration. I’m truly grateful.

Illustrator Goals ✅

My story is part of a wider suite of interactive stories available on Bitesize for Primary school aged children so be sure to check them out and make use of this fantastic resource - link is both below and found in my linktree above or visit the BBC Bitesize page and search “Bigger than you”.

Yes!

Some very exciting news ahead….

I made a post earlier in the year that very very subtly suggested who I might be collabing with, and a number of you guys correctly pieced the clues - and guessed it!

It’s @bbcbitesize

There will be more info to share in the coming days - but I cannot wait to share and tell you more

“Lumi and the Wolf” is out now! Here is what you can expect from it: adventure, folklore, stunning landscapes, sauna and ice-swimming, fierce friendship, a lonely wolf, a cheeky Sámi boy, and a big-hearted and creative autistic heroine. ❄️

Summary: When Lumi arrives in Lapland, her aunt and uncle warn her of the wild white wolf. But when Lumi meets him and learns he’s being hunted, she decides to do whatever it takes to save his life. With the help of local boy Oskár, she sets off on a perilous quest across snowy fells to reach the national park where Wolf will be safe. To survive, Lumi must trust the things that make her who she is: her sharp senses, the patterns she sees in the forests, and her fierce determination - before the hunters catch up.

OUT TODAY: Justin Anderson’s first book for adults is Wilderness Songs (Batsford), an immersive journey into the sounds of nature. From picture books to impeccably researched books for adults, Justin’s love for the natural world and storytelling ability shine through everything he does. We’re delighted to introduce his writing to an adult audience.

Using QR codes so you can listen to the sounds yourself, Justin explores the ways animals communicate as well as the soundscapes of forests, mountains and the ocean. Drawing on his own personal experiences as a natural history filmmaker, as well as the latest research and technological breakthroughs, Justin has created an innovative book on a fascinating subject.
