Farmers, especially poultry farmers, this invitation is for you!

During yesterday’s walk commemorating World Food Day, we caught up with the General Manager of the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF), who shared the Foundation’s commitment to supporting farmers and strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

He extended an open invitation to farmers, agribusiness stakeholders and the general public to join the World Food Day Grand Finale on October 16 at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.

And there is something special for poultry farmers! 🎉

@batnfoundation will be giving out three-tier poultry cages, particularly benefiting farmers engaged in layer production.

As the General Manager emphasised, the Foundation’s support goes beyond poultry farming. Its commitment to agriculture embraces farmers across different value chains.

Yesterday, we joined the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems at the official press briefing for the 2026 World Food Day and Eko Farm Fair.

Led by Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashola, Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Systems, the briefing shared plans to bring together 3,500 farmers and value-chain stakeholders this year, compared to 2,000 in 2025. That is 1,500 more farmers reached, and real growth in impact.

This year's theme, "Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow," reminds us that technology, strong partnerships and sustainable production all have a part to play in feeding Lagos.

At BATN Foundation, we're especially glad to see the focus on farmer-to-market linkages. When farmers can reach buyers directly, they keep more of the value of their hard work, and that is how livelihoods grow.

Every additional farmer reached means more livelihoods strengthened, and that is the impact we are committed to creating.
