… new project | forest spa | 2022 | south-tirol

… we are proud to design a new spa in south-tirol for a superior family hotel at the dolomites.

… the idea was to place the new building near the existing forest and not make the building recognizable as a building. So we tried to connect architecture with nature. First, we break up the volumes into individual stone walls that run from the inside to the outside.

… In the second step, sliding glass walls were placed in such a way that they are not visible when open. This creates a space in which the boundaries between inside and outside become blurred.

… the entire garden design is based on the natural stone walls of different heights. With some hanging plants, lights, and fire pits, it's a place to come back to your natural self, back to nature.

… 1 | overview of the garden and architectural design
… 2 | the lounge to rest waiting until a treatment
… 3 | the underground corridor which connects the hotel with the new spa area
… 4 | sunken sofa and the pool with a lovely mountain view

… some more impressions and details are coming

... when the light is the last to leave | office baukooperative

... every evening the office changes its voice. screens go dark, one lamp after another goes out, and what remains is not emptiness but atmosphere. a room shows its true character at the moment it is being left.

... for us, light does not only work while we do. it also decides how a space feels once we are gone. between glowing niches, deep shadows and the last warm spot on the wall, architecture keeps telling its story

... goodnight from our office in laaben.

… one afternoon in May, we returned to a house we had brought to life, this time with photographer Roland Radschopf, following the sunlight as it slowly wandered through the rooms.

… it fell on oak shelves and wooden bowls, a stone sink with its little nook for the scrubbing brushes, and cushions resting beneath the apple tree.

… a few quiet impressions of a house we once imagined, now a home filled with everyday life.

project weltwien | 2023 | vienna

… a historic corner building in vienna’s 12th district, built around 1900.

… inspired by the spirit of the „Wiener Werkstätte“, we set out to create a dialogue between past and present. rather than recreating history, we drew on the building’s original character, reinterpreting its details through a contemporary lens.

… carefully chosen materials, craftsmanship and an attention to the smallest details bring warmth and character to the spaces, creating something that feels both timeless and distinctly its own.

… a house with a history to tell, and a new chapter to unfold.

Some details are meant to be felt (2/3): The long oak handle of this pivot door is wrapped in leather, turning the moment of interaction into part of the design.

Set against the stained oak frame and bronze-coloured glass, the handle introduces a warmer, more tactile element to the otherwise architectural composition. The eight-millimetre glass absorbs and reflects the changing light, while the pattern of the balustrade appears differently across its surface as the door moves.

Every material plays a role: oak brings warmth, bronze-tinted glass brings depth, and leather brings tactility. Behind these details, System M+ is integrated entirely within the 65 mm thick door, keeping the pivot mechanism and its technology out of sight.

Save this for when materials, light and movement need to come together.
