The research is IN: mentorship transforms futures.

New studies from Harvard, Harris Poll, and Arnold Ventures confirm that young people with mentors are more likely to thrive academically, emotionally, and professionally.

Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles as we celebrate 70 years of impact and aim to recruit 70 mentors and raise $70K in 70 days.

💚 Double your impact when you donate before November 13th; thanks to The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation, all gifts will be matched!

Your support today helps us reach MORE LA youth, empower MORE potential, and change MORE lives.

When Taya was a student at Lawndale High School, she knew she wanted to go to college. As a first-generation college student, she wasn’t always sure what that path would look like.

Through BBBSLA’s Women in Entertainment (WIE) program, Taya found a mentor and a community of support as she navigated the college process, explored her goals, and discovered new possibilities along the way.

Her journey eventually led her to El Segundo High School, where she graduated with a full-ride scholarship to Chapman University. 🎓

Today, Taya is putting her Communications degree to work while exploring her passions in sales, entertainment, events, and fashion. From modeling at New York Fashion Week to building her network in Los Angeles, she’s continuing to explore, grow, and create opportunities for herself.

We’re so proud to celebrate all that Taya is doing and can’t wait to see where her journey takes her next!

We always want to hear from our alumni and celebrate what they're doing. If you're interested in being highlighted in our "Alumni Moments" reach out to us at alumni@bbbsla.org to be featured. #AlumniMomentsBBBSLA by @bbbsla

At BBBSLA, we believe in the power of showing up for one another. This #HispanicHeritageMonth, we celebrate the rich cultures, voices, and traditions that help shape the lives of the youth and families we serve. When we embrace who we are, we create a world where every child can thrive. #BiggerTogether

41 years. One match. A lifetime of friendship. 💙

When Denise met Carla through the Big Sisters program, neither could have imagined that their match would grow into a 41-year friendship filled with love, encouragement, and countless memories.

Today, Carla isn’t just Denise’s former Big Sister. She’s “Auntie Carla” to Denise’s daughters and grandchildren, and their families have become part of each other’s lives, too. ✨

Their story is a beautiful reminder that mentorship can become so much more than a program or a match. It can become a lifelong connection that continues through every season of life.

💙 Could you be the next person to make that kind of lasting impact? Become a Big and help a young person build a relationship that can shape their life for years to come.
