The days after #911 #September11 #worldtradecenter attacks were filled with nonstop #volunteer work for me. If I saw a need and there wasn’t a program in place - I created it. The sense of #community was STRONG. Regardless of race, religion or economic status or political affiliation we all had a common goal: To restore hope where it had been lost. To provide support for those in need. To be the kinds of neighbors and friends we all wanted to have. I hope and pray our country can come back to this mentality. WE — those of us who LOVE EACH OTHER - OUR COUNTRY - AND OUR WORLD - Far outnumber those that lead with division and and hate. May we ALL recommit to LOVE - and WORK TOGETHER to CREATE the world we wish to see!

A&CO is so proud to have steered a partnership between our client LAIKA Studios and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA), in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). Wildwood Heroes, inspired by LAIKA’s upcoming film WILDWOOD and by the young people across the country who face life’s challenges with courage, is a campaign that celebrates stories of bravery, perseverance, loyalty, and hope. Zoe, the first Wildwood Hero, is featured in this inspiring video alongside her Big Sister, Kaeti. After her family was impacted by the 2025 Southern California wildfires, Zoe faced the challenge of starting over in a new school, meeting new friends, and finding the courage to step into an unfamiliar environment. Through her relationship with Kaeti, Zoe has continued to embrace new experiences while discovering more of her own strength along the way. Over the coming weeks, Wildwood Heroes from Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country will share their own stories, each one highlighting a unique young person and the mentor who has helped them. Our Crenshaw Family YMCA Back 2 School Family Reunion was truly a celebration of community, connection, and making sure our families are ready for a successful school year! Our 4th Annual Super Skate Posse Give Back was unforgettable. Together, we gave 100 kids in our community brand new complete skateboards, @protec ,& @globebrand shoes. We kicked things off w/a sensory skate session for our neurodiverse youth, led by the amazing coaches from @sk8haven.npo & @skateboardingforautismca , creating a welcoming space where everyone could learn at their own pace. At noon, youth from the @jklivinfoundation & @bbbsla joined us for free skate gear & a supportive intro to skateboarding. The community showed up big: 🛹 Globe donated skateboards, shoes, and tees, & @globebrand_skateboarding pros ripped thru the park. Thank you @joncleveland_ & team! 🍔 @tasty_ws served burgers and brisket. 🐔 @raisingcanes kept everyone fueled with lemonade, teas, & free goodies in the sling bags. 🥤 Sabadores @topochicousa kept everyone refreshed. 🍿 @localheartsfoundation , @officialviplb @thevipfamilyfoundation , Squishmallows, & many others shared snacks, drinks, & giveaways. 🫶 @soluna.app brought DIY patch socks, stickers, & resources for teens seeking accessible mental health support. 🎡 The @lbhealthdept kept the fun going with Spin the Wheel prizes. This day was about more than skateboarding. It brought nonprofits, businesses, volunteers, & community members together to make sure every child felt seen, welcomed, and included. Whether it was their first time on a board or they just needed a judgment-free space, everyone belonged. That’s what skateboarding is all about—community, encouragement, inclusion, & showing up exactly as you are. A special shout out to @superskateposse for making skateboarding accessible to our LB community that may not have the opportunity to do activities like these. It’s always an honor to partner with you every year. We ❤️ you. Thank you to every sponsor, volunteer, coach, donor, & family who made this day possible. The LBC Regulators showed out for our 4th annual community giveback at McBride Skatepark Saturday! That makes 400 new skaters in Long Beach alone over the four givebacks! Thank you to everyone who made this incredible day possible! 🛹💙 100 participant's received: 🛹 A Globe skateboard 🪖 A Pro-tec helmet 👟 A pair of Globe shoes Then the fun really began! Each participant was paired with a dedicated coach from Skateboarding for Autism or SK8 HAVEN, who helped build confidence, teach new skills, and make sure everyone had a fun time. Watching these kids smile and accomplish things they never thought possible was truly priceless. ❤️ Thank you to all of the volunteers, sponsors, coaches, organizers, and a huge thank you to Super Skate Posse, SK8 HAVEN, Skateboarding for Autism, Long Beach Hero Squad, Just Keep Living, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Tasty-W's for creating such an unforgettable experience for these amazing kids and for making a difference in the lives of so many families.
