Well that was something !! Day 1 really good til it wasn’t, Heat, delirium, pivot to supported - thanks to my niece @hhannacollins , Day 2 more heat but riding for recovery, slept, Day 3 - best day - ate and rode all singletrack well til 9:30 pm , was lantern rouge but looking forward to finish RAMBA and move on to my fav, the wilds. Called in my brother @coachcollins_smu for miles 300 to finish support but I crashed out 45 minutes into Day 4. Great day in ER no broken bones or concussions just stitches bruises and cuts - yay. Support the riders on trackleaders! Only 4 riders have finished so far. John Britt !! Is next I hope. My “bar buddy” at the Buckhorn Resort, day 1❤️ by @bc_rides

Doing a “Jo” - back in the day as a kid, I spent many mornings after Xmas tagging along on my Mom’s rush to a shop in Venice ,FL where she’d pick up boxes of nice cards on sale to send the next year. Sending Xmas letters that summarized her year’s highlights tucked inside a nice card was an annual ritual that began often before Thanksgiving. Once we had email, my role was usually editing “the letter”. Mom - forever the artist, would usually make a few cards - using whatever technique was on her radar that year - collage, stencil, stamping - even painting (never her favorite). Later in her life, as her send list dwindled, she mostly only made cards since only needed 2.0 or so - right up to the month before she passed. I’ve made a few cards over the years but never with the energy or intent of Jo. The pandemic has nudged my creative brain a little bit - remembering how much I love a dip in the paint - so cards it is. It also has brought me a sharp sense of gratitude for the people who are in my life - even from a distance. Which card is yours? #doajo #cardart #tistheseason taken in Traverse City, Michigan by @bc_rides
