What’s scarier than Halloween? Being 230 feet above the ground and pretending you’re totally fine. We’re fine, this is fine!

Canyon Frights at @capilanosuspensionbridge is back, and the rainforest understood the assignment. Twinkling spooky lights, a pumpkin-filled lake, giant spider webs, graveyards and the creepiest watchful owls (seriously, the one near the treetop entrance spooked me!)

Every corner had something new to see, and not to be dramatic, but this might be one of the best years yet.
Running until November 1, it’s the perfect mix of playful scares, eerie vibes and photo ops that are actually worth the hype. Don’t worry though, nothing is super scary so it’s still perfect for the whole family.

And BC residents, here’s the best part: your admission becomes an annual pass, meaning you can come back for Canyon Frights, holiday events and more throughout the year.

Spooky season plans? Sorted. Fear of heights? That’s between you and the bridge. Who’s tackling their fear this year?! Livs friend did it, so can you! 🎃 🕷️

The second the leaves start turning red, I’m done. Comfy pants, cozy jackets, all the candles and absolutely no plans to leave the house.

Currently living in my @knix CloudCut pants and bomber jacket. They’re light enough to be ridiculously comfortable but cozy enough that I have zero intention of taking them off. Add the mulberry Shape & Smooth bra and a good book, and honestly, I’m sat.

I’ve been re-reading all of @katelyntaylorauthor books lately, so apparently I’m going to be cozy and curled up for a while.

Anyone else immediately reach for a candle and their Kindle the second it gets cold, or is that just me?

Fall is my favourite excuse to slow down, take a little time for myself and enjoy the quiet before the holiday chaos begins.

Who’s ready for an adventure?

If you like boldly colourful, action-packed animation, @forgottenislandmovie from @dreamworks is for you. And if you dig Filipino mythology and culture, you’ll like this movie even more. It’s so universal in its specificity, from lechon to karaoke, as it’s all about friendship and treasured memories.

Set in the 1990s in the Philippines, the story follows Jo and Raissa. “Two best friends become stranded on the mystical world of Nakali, where their only escape might cost them their shared lifetime of memories.”

Expect plenty of laughs (King Truffle Wuffle and Prince Mermahn are terrific), neon ‘90s nostalgia, striking visuals, fun action sequences, and most importantly, real heart. It all progresses at a frenetic pace that keeps you engaged and invested for the full 110-minute runtime.

Fair warning that some scenes get pretty intense and may frighten young kids, especially with the vampire-like Manang.

Forgotten Island stars H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto, Jo Koy, Ronny Chieng, and the legendary Lea Salonga. It opens this Friday, September 25.

NEW HAIR WHO DIS?

It was time for a refresh… and honestly, my scalp needed a little TLC too. It’s been 2 YEARS since I had a haircut, and usually I donate it…. but this time around, I wanted to keep it long a bit longer, but with a bit more style. [ad]

@edensalonboutique just opened their new spot in North Burnaby and one visit took me from drab → fab. The hair refresh was very overdue, but the real star of the show? That shampoo sesh. Like the kind of scalp treatment that temporarily made me forget I have any responsibilities. Melt.

I loved that Eden is all about healthy, beautiful hair and uses professional, stylist-approved products so you’re not just leaving with hair that looks good, but hair that actually feels GOOD too. Loved the products but forgot to grab them? You can shop online with a store stocked full of luxurious products, gifts and everything you need to accomplish that salon look at home.
