This month, my local library is hosting the @smithsonian Spark! Places of Innovation exhibit, which has been traveling nationwide for the last few years. They asked if I could participate in the exhibit by showcasing my patent documents for my design from the #NikeEaseChallenge. I decided to provide a bit more including a prototype I worked on when developing my submitted design, sample Nike prototype created during development (which I think I was supposed to send back 🤷‍♂️), and final production versions of the Zoom UNVRS worn by @de11edonne during her MVP season and first championship, and Phantom GT2 Flyease. The second photo shows the pair my mom had me sign, and which she wore often to her chemotherapy treatments to show off to the other patients. Felt right to include them as I’m sure she would have been ecstatic about this display.

The library also asked that I include some rare shoes from my collection so they could create a display. I decided to include some of my favorites and unique pairs including the @jeffstaple x Panda Pigeon Dunk, prototype sample Cortez/dunk created in the Nike Innovation Kitchen by @hedcheq, Kobe IX Masterpiece with the @ryanjgander Nike flyknit puzzle box, Nike HTM Air Force 1 Croc by @tinkahat @fujiwarahiroshi and Mark Parker, @octobersveryown Air Jordan 8’s, and a selection of my @laikastudios Nike collaborations created for their movies.

It was very cool to relive the Ease Challenge and show my kids what I got to do back in the day.

Took Camden and Quade to the Nuggets vs Pacers game today. They had a great time and even got to go down to the court postgame and meet some of the Pacers thanks to their Uncle James. Thankful to be able to make these memories with these boys. If I got to do this at their age I would have flipped! Someday they’ll know how special it was. taken in Ball Arena by @bdrake25

On May 19th my mother passed away after a battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma last October, and over the last seven months she proved that she was the strongest person in our family by far. Over those seven months she continued to be an amazing mother and grandmother even though times were difficult.

I am incredibly grateful for the 34 years she was in my life and continue to reflect daily how lucky I was to have her as a mother. The most difficult part in all of this is knowing how much she loved her grandchildren and how much she wanted to be a part of all their milestones in life. I will spend the rest of my life reminding and reinforcing to my children how much she loved them, and how she will continue to be a big part of their life.

Thank you for all those who have reached out with their condolences. by @bdrake25
