📍Avalon 🍎✨

Tomorrow I fly to Alaska for a 15 week working contract. Part of me is dreading the newness of it, although this contract comes highly recommended. Being a nomadic seasonal worker is not for the faint of heart. Trying to keep the upside in mind, the freedom to explore this magickal earth, as I step again into the unknown.

Hi mom, I’m in my blue hair don’t care era. It’s just a phase. To all my other friends, I’m wanting to share more here. I’ve landed in Paonia Colorado for the month of April. I’m here to work on paintings. I’ve never had this much time to dedicate to my art practice and I’m overwhelmingly grateful to find myself here. Any encouraging words appreciated… I’m finding myself feeling ambitious and even hopeful to be able to make the work I want to make. It’s bittersweet and ridiculous how difficult it is to make art and be a working class person. I’m ecstatic to be where I am currently and I’m angry that it isn’t an opportunity that all who wanted to could afford. I remember how disillusioned I was coming out of art school, and here I am, still angsty but more seasoned. If you’re out there making something I appreciate you 💙

Lmao @shittyburningmanpics, this is the only photo I took this year. The tofu went off and became a nuisance of sun baked waste. At least no one got food poisoning 🤠
Super grateful for all the kindness and care I got to receive and give on playa. Every burn is different, and this year I got to be what I call “an adult”, taking on more leadership and responsibilities- not easy, but I had the capacity and felt good about it! And let’s be real, I did my best, but definitely have room to grow. I knew I wanted to give back to the ones who have been in similar leadership positions, and made it possible for me to thrive as a baby burner. Kinda just paying it back, forward, or perhaps in between???
