Beach Cleaning is one of my favorite things to do! Every day is Earth Day - it’s our HOME 🌍 🌊 🗑️ My second favorite is making things from the plastic trash I collect 🏖️ 🩷

This is the very first Umbrella Dress outfit I made, East Village NYC c 2017 and I just happened to be wearing it when I had the serendipitous opportunity to meet the incredible @rawtoeresa 🤸‍♀️

This is the only picture I have of this outfit. If you look closely you can see the strap that wraps around the umbrella as well as the original umbrella tips hanging off the bottom of the skirt 🖤

One of my earlier Beach Bella Dresses that I fashioned to be worn 3 different ways. I wore this on a trip to Atlanta and got SO MANY compliments on it.

This is one of the very first Umbrella Skirts I made and it remains a favorite to this day! 🏖️ YES this used to be part of a broken Beach Umbrella 🌈 I fashioned the bra using a thrifted swim top and bottle caps that I picked up during my beach cleans! Fyi PURPLE bottle caps are really rare to find 😂💜

This was the first time I used a sewing machine to finish the waist, before that I sewed them all by hand 🪡 #progress

I have a confession. I’m obsessed with rescuing broken Beach Umbrellas and refashioning them into Dresses.

This is what 175 umbrellas looks like 🏖️ 95 of them are broken beach umbrellas rescued from Florida beaches and 80 are smaller umbrellas mostly collected off the streets of NYC.

Why you ask? Because this all ends up in the landfill and we need to start reusing items and materials. This is all polyester and none of it is recyclable 😢 But it is reusable!!! Follow along with me on this crazy journey to transform trash into trendy treasure 🗑️ 👗
