Sailed about 11 Nautical miles my first time out. 10mph gusts, 2ft seas. @xsuperann thanks for supporting me and having a blast with me on our little sunset cruise!! Next time I have a goal of using the jib and main sail. I’ll keep learning skills till I can transition from vanlife to sailboat!! #sailing #greenhorn #sunset cruise. by @beacherjosh

I have 16 weekends to learn to sail!!! ☠️🤷

Step one was towing with a vehicle that had enough clearance… I had to modify the trailer to the mast and mast crutch didn’t smash into my van.

Step two is getting this 2 stroke 5hp mercury to run reliably. Right now she mostly starts, but no matter how long it warms up for it will die with out throttle… tomorrow I’ll run it in a trash can full of water and adjust the idler screw. I hope it’s an easy fix. by @beacherjosh

I’ve been thinking about how much I’ve grown into myself lately.
I can now trust myself like I trust a good cast! 🎣 Finally being in a space where the people closest to me push me forward instead of pulling me back. I’ve been creating more boldly, learning without fear, standing behind my own decisions — and it feels new and also deeply familiar, like an old growth forest hidden away. Thank you!

I’ve grown a lot of confidence in my ability to adapt and pivot when life calls for it. Now I’m working on the flip side — getting ahead of things instead of just responding to them... hopefully lists and habit-paired actions will eventually come just as naturally. 🫣🫣🤷… if I put it out into the world… I’ll hold myself more accountable 🍻 by @beacherjosh

In every build so far I had #dreamed of a pull out Mayson/bell jar rack. Now I’ll have space for 36 jars!! Black trumpets and winterchantelles better not hide from me this season!!!

Oh man do I HATE pouring epoxy. But my sink counter top came out so well…. Very ready to not be a carpet walker… and be back on the road (or ocean). by @beacherjosh

Wowza life has been life-ing. 10 yr break up, mom battled cancer, new relationship, solo van build, annnd working tword buying a sailboat. Spring is here and I have a new wind of energy. by @beacherjosh
