2 years of sharing custody and while it doesn’t really get easier, it does become your new normal. I still have weekends when she is away where I seriously struggle and my heart feels like it’s missing a piece.

Over on @letsgrowthroughit this week I’m talking about how I cope with sharing custody in a healthy way, but also getting real and sharing some of the not so healthy ways I’ve coped these last 2 years.

I think it will always sting, but deep in my bones I know this is what was healthiest for both of us.

I’ve honestly never felt more special & loved in my entire life. I flew out to Colorado for some much needed best friend time with @tessaryn I thought we were just going to brunch when she surprised me with @goldengirlkatie & Kels @kelsandjay at our table. They both flew across the country to celebrate this new chapter of life with me. 😭😭😭😭 yesterday was one of the best days I’ve had in a long time. Haven’t smiled so much and so hard in yearssss.

👸The QUEEN of starting over…or as I like to call it, starting from experience! Recreating yourself, your career, your idea of family, relationships and friendships can be scary, but it can also be so rewarding. Letting go of what no longer serves you sucks…until it doesn’t! Life throws us all curve balls, bumps in the roads, and sometimes it burns all your hopes, dreams and plans to the mf ground. The one thing you always have is YOU, your mindset and the capability to take the next best step for you in each moment.

I’m currently in what feels like my 20th rebrand of life and with each rebrand I learn a little more, I grow a little more, I let go a little more, and I feel a little closer to my most authentic ME! And as much as I LOVE Noah & this song, just know that as long as you stay on earth, you CAN keep on starting over! And in fact, I highly recommend it 🤗 by @beachykefer

SWIM WITH SHARKS✅ was this a crazy adventure? Maybe. But I could argue that you driving a car is more dangerous than swimming with sharks. I felt 100% safe and peaceful this entire experience and I’m so happy I finally got to check this one off my divorce bucket list. I still don’t really have to word to explain how magical checking this one off felt except, I’m happy I took the risk! Happy Freedom anniversary month to me! 🤗 🥳 The last 4 years have been the deepest healing years of my life. I’ve found more peace, purpose and happiness than I ever imagined possible. I mark this time of year as a celebration of finding my way back to me! The woman in the last clip thought finding out her husband had been cheating on her for an entire year was the WORST thing that ever happened to her. The woman that I am today wraps that part of me up in loving and safe arms and knows all the reason why it was “the BEST worst thing that ever happened to me.” 💕 there is so much happiness and life on the other side of divorce and betrayal and as a single woman & mom. This is also what a I mean when I say “I have a sense of adventure.” 🦈 Would you believe me if I said this was one of the most peaceful experiences of my life? Because it oddly was! There was such a deep feeling of awe and respect swimming with these sharks and not once did I feel fear (what does that say about me? 😂). It was a horse fly that ruined the entire day today 🥳

I was about to post this video on my story with the caption “it’s my favorite time of year, 90° + secret swimming spots…nothing better!” And before I could type 1 word the horse fly attacked, everyone immediately went into fight or flight and was screaming and crying, and the 30 minute hike back to the car was stressful (putting it nicely)

Do I regret it? Nah, 10/10 would do it again! (Maybe I’ll bring a fly swatter next time) but I’m def sleeping hard tonight.

Parasailing ✅ 23 out of 38 items checked off the Divorce Bucket list!

When I first made this Bucketlist the point was to push me outside of my comfort zones so that I could feel alive again. I put things on it that I always wanted to do but could never find the time to do when I was married, I put a few things on there that the old me would not have been interested in doing at all, I put things on there for my inner child, and I put things on there that I was SO AFRAID to do. (I have officially entered the face your fears items on the list)

I was so scared to parasail, which I find funny now because once I got up in the sky I felt peaceful and weirdly safe…so safe that I flipped upside down and started swinging to make it more of a thrill 😂

This list is all about trying new things, facing fears just to find out they aren’t really that scary after all, and becoming my favorite version of me! 🤗 Every time I check something off it feels so good for present me AND like a gift I get to keep on giving to heartbroken past me.
