The photo that we posted last Tuesday may have given you a clue why, exactly, we asked you to hold the date. Yep, it’s time for another Summer Bizarre Bazaar! 😎

For one day only, from 11am-4pm, @sussexbeacon's St James’s Street shop will be transformed into an adults-only emporium. Featuring a massive selection of fetish and leather gear, XXX artwork and literature, plus so many other saucy adult products, it’s going to be a busy one.

What a day!

With Super Snazzy Saturday taking place at @sussexbeacon St James’s Street, followed by Rose Garden’s @ro.se314 Swap Shop at @brightonqueensarms, there was plenty of excitement all day in Kemptown.

The first time it has been held, Super Snazzy Saturday didn’t disappoint. With racks full of pre-adored designer clothing and accessories, there was a great atmosphere and delightful buzz from start to finish. Raising more than £1500 in 6 hours for @sussexbeacon, it’s fair to say it was a real success.

Many thanks indeed to everyone who came along. We hope you enjoy your purchases!

Today marks the beginning of Volunteers’ Week, when we officially recognise and celebrate the wonderful people who give up their time to make a difference to other people’s lives.

At @sussexbeacon, volunteers play an extremely valuable role, in many areas of the organisation. It is often a member of our cherished volunteer Reception team providing a warm welcome to visitors, guests and clients to our main centre, which overlooks the glorious South Downs.

Volunteers also play a vital role within our two @beaconcharityshops (St James's Street and London Road). Providing important customer service, a welcoming smile and information about the local areas, these delightful folk work alongside others who help our van driver with deliveries and collections across Brighton & Hove and beyond. Without the hard work and commitment of these kind and dedicated people, quite simply we couldn’t run our two shops that raise vital funds for @sussexbeacon.

Tomorrow, we’ll talk about other areas of The Beacon, where volunteers play a vital role.

@thepostman_art amazing mural of the great Freddie Mercury, which can be seen alongside our St James's Street shop entrance, has been attracting quite a lot of attention recently.

If you haven't seen it, feel free to take a photo/selfie and tag @thepostman_art as well as @sussexbeacon, when you come along for tomorrow's Super Snazzy Saturday! If you enjoy hunting down a bargain or two, Kemptown is the place to be on Saturday 31st May!!

First of all, a reminder that Super Snazzy Saturday is on at @sussexbeacon St James’s Street shop, from 10am – 4pm. For one day only, there will be a huge selection of pre-adored designer clothing and accessories, all in one place. We’re talking big names, sweetie, big names!!!! D&G, Versace, Vivien Westwood, Moschino and much more.

Pretty much directly after of course, from 5pm-7pm, the glorious Rose Garden @ro.se314 returns to the @brightonqueensarms with her magnificent Swap Shop! Having generated a wave of joy and love upon its return, the second Swap Shop for 2025 is likely to be even busier than the first. Dare we even imagine what Rose could get up to this time?! 😏😁

Could you be tempted to swap a Super Snazzy Saturday purchase for something Rose produces from her own treasure chest of fabulous fashion? Or maybe you can bring along something else and swap it at Swap Shop for an item you missed out on at Super Snazzy Saturday.

You may not hear “Lacroix, sweetie” being called out in @sussexbeacon St James’s Street shop, but on Saturday 31st May you may hear cries of joy when customers discover the likes of other top brands including Vivienne Westwood, YSL, Moschino, Versace, Stella McCartney and much more, all at bargain prices!

For one day only, from 10am-4pm, we are holding a Super Snazzy Saturday, when our St James’s Street shop will be jam-packed full of pre-adored designer label clothes and accessories.

Brighton Half Marathon 2025, Sunday the 2nd of March. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️The Sussex Beacon retail team wishes all those that are running this weekend a great race day!
