Ready or not…here he comes! Not gonna lie I’m a nervous wreck. But Bear’s cousin Casey gave me the best pep talk. He told me, “ I don’t know why you are so nervous, he’s not like a typical kid, but thats what is so good about him!” Sometimes I get so caught up proving he is like everyone else to prove he belongs, I lose sight of the magic he can bring just by being him. One of the hardest things about taking Bear to activities is watching when people stop trying. Many times I’ll take him somewhere and people at the beginning will be all in to help Bear, but if he’s not all in, they just sort of move on. It’s so hard to watch as his mom because I know with a little patience and time he can do anything. At @flowmontauk they NEVER quit on Bear. I was a little shocked when he wouldn’t go in the water because with us, we can’t keep him out. But over the weeks the volunteers just kept showing up for him, giving him opportunities to do whatever felt right for him that day. They built trust. And then he did it. His love of the water met surfing. And I am so excited for him to grow into a surfer like his friends he watched all summer. Happy Birthday love of my life! We had a lowkey birthday bc we got big plans in the next few days. But it a great day! We had to rearrange from cake at sasa’s house to a Chick-fil-A picnic with Casey. Bear very clearly requested “Big Thor” for his birthday which made me so happy. Another request Bear had for his day was to play music for the cats at petsmart. Had to be the funniest thing I ever heard of. He was hoping they’d dance but instead they slept. 😂 thanks for the visits and all the people that made his day special. 🫶🏻 by @bear_norvell

Mother’s Day at Bear’s school. It’s still wild to me that I get to go to a Mother’s Day event. I never thought I’d get to be a mom. And then when I found out Bear would have Down syndrome, I thought seeing him do these typical kid things wouldn’t be my reality. So watching this little super hero sing all his songs do all the moves (and some additional of his own 😂) is truly the best thing ever for me. I feel like I witness miracles daily. How cool is that? by @bear_norvell
