How we made our own books in Tonga 🇹🇴 // At Fehoko Art Workshop, we learned traditional ways of printing patterns using natural materials, including tapa cloth and clay from ʻEua.

We made our own prints, then wrapped, glued, and bound the covers and pages together to create our own books.

A hands-on experience learning from local artists and creating something we could take home with us. taken in Fehoko Art & Tours by @bearswithoutborders

Not the update we hoped to share, but our commitment to the schools and communities we serve remains unchanged. Thank you to everyone who has supported this mission, and especiallly to our 9 Student-Impact Leaders for leading with resilience, grace and heart.

Tonga, we'll be back. ❤️🇹🇴

// WEEK 1 IN TONGA 🇹🇴

Week 1 in Tonga has been nothing short of learning — learning about Tonga, each other, and ourselves.

Currently waiting for the container of supplies to clear (definitely arriving on island time 😆), but it’s been the perfect opportunity to explore the island, learn about Tongan culture and traditions, and slow down a little.

What could’ve felt like a delay has turned into a chance to make meaningful connections, gain a deeper appreciation for island life, and fully embrace the experience. 🇹🇴 taken in Nuku’alofa, Tongatapu, Kingdom of Tonga by @bearswithoutborders
