"The Queen of Hearts," oil on panel, 16" x 20". SO HAPPY TO FINALLY SHARE THIS! The first elaborate hyperrealism still life I've attempted!! I know this one was posted after a few others, but this took 7 months to fully dry before I could varnish it haha. I learned A TON on this piece, and I'm thankful that I got to share so much of the journey with y'all. This piece will be in my upcoming solo show in November. Much love and happy Wednesday all! ❤️

Reposting a lil' hyperrealism piece from 2017, "The Cheshire Cat," charcoal and white pastel on pastel paper. 8" x 10". This was really a landmark piece for me, it was the first time I was really really happy with my own work. I'd love to get back into charcoal again! Hope y'all had a safe and wonderful Christmas! <3

“This painting is inspired by the March Hare from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I also wanted to capture the feeling of fall, with all of its beautiful, fleeting color.

Rose Madder and Yellow Ochre became the two main colors in the piece, with Quinacridone Magenta and Naphthol Red Light adding even more warmth and intensity.

And boy, were they perfect for it!”

We love seeing how artists use color to bring a story, season, and character to life.

Materials Used: Richeson Oils (Napthol Red Light, Cadmium Orange, Rose Madder, and Quinacridone Magenta)

I do this every time before I work on a section. I always make sure to really de-tack the tape to prevent any damage to the surface. Happy dust free painting!

Sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s going on in a reffy, not sure why I went so warm with the eye color the first time lol. Thankfully color glazing exists! Happy to say this little piece has now been approved by the client! Oil on watercolor panel 5”x7”. by @beateasel

I need to completely rework this painting from yesterday’s stream, it came out pretty goofy. But at least it’s got good bones! I used every dagger brush I have in the process lol. by @beateasel

Still on the first layer with this one, but I’m super happy with the progress! I decided with these sunflower centers to just sort of eye ball all these lil blurry seeds, so far so good! Oil on panel 11”x14”. by @beateasel
