Four years ago, my prayers were answered. I was reconnected w/ my dad after 25 years or so. I flew out to Texas a few months later to meet him & my siblings, for the first time ever! It was such an emotional experience and one of the best days of my life. Something you only see in movies or read in books. I couldn’t believe how much I looked like him & how similar our personalities/interests were. I promised him I’d keep in contact with him & that I would love him forever, no matter how much time we had lost in the past.
I am deeply saddened by the news of my father’s passing, because he seemed invincible to me, I wasn’t ready to completely let him go yet. I mean, we just reconnected. I finally got to call someone “papá.” He was one of the strongest ppl I’ve ever met & had such an amazing heart.
I am also at peace, knowing he is no longer ill & suffering. And he was well taken care of by my sister & brother in law, in Texas, whom I am forever grateful for. My dad was very much loved by many and will always be. Jorge Lozano, papá, I will miss and love you forever. Save a spot for me.
