Mikey, I know nothing I say will bring you back, and that’s a brutal reality. I beat myself up every single day for letting a petty argument keep me from sending you off the right way, on your trip back home to El Salvador. I had no idea that very moment you got in the car for the airport would be the last time I would ever see you. I hate that I didn’t hug you farewell. I hate that I didn’t get to tell you that I loved you. I hate that I didn’t get to tell you that I couldn’t wait for you to get back home so we could take another blunt ride through the country side with Cela, Bea, and Randy. I hate that I didn’t take the time to reach out to you in your trip to see how you were doing.

Losing you and Monica that day was a harsh reminder that tomorrow is never promised. It reminded me that I should never let petty things keep me from loving those near and dear to me. It’s not the same showing love for someone when they’re gone. It’s devastating to the core. I’m sorry Mikey, for not being there when I should have been. I miss you more than words could ever amount to. Please hug Monica for me, and all of our angels. Let them know I love them and miss them dearly. Know that I will fight everyday to live on in your honor.
