Saturday Spins at Millers — Walden

This week we’re vibing with Walden, Bali-based producer and selector whose sound flows between hip-hop grooves and chill instrumentals.
Drawing inspiration from Nujabes, J Dilla, Dr. Dre to FKJ, Tom Misch, and Cookin Soul, Walden delivers a laid-back set perfect for your weekend unwind.

Come through, bring and spin your records, grab a drink, and let the grooves spin. 🪩

Among the things I enjoy outside of music, I really love the outdoors and traveling.

Discovering a new vibrant city, tasting new flavors, watching the sunset from a new viewpoint, or stepping for the first time on a hike I've never walked before.
Even though those activities can be hectic, they also invite me to reflect on how I walk on the path of life and at which pace.

That's why since the beginning of this year, I decided to slow down on the releases to be more present in my daily life. I took more time to enjoy the little moments, to get inspired for more personal work on the musical side.

I have a couple of collabs that should be out before the end of the year. Some on Spotify, but I'm considering slowly moving out of the platform due to their latest investments and global policies. BandCamp and SoundCloud are the ones I'm thinking of using the most in the future.

Anyway, here it is for some updates and pictures from the places I've visited lately.

Peace

New remix out on SoundCloud! 💿
'Battlecry' from Shing02, the opening of the infamous anime Samurai Champloo🥷

This particular anime holds a dear place in my heart since I've discovered it when I was a teenager. Before that, I did not listen to hip hop at all.
Nujabes' beats really opened me to new rhythms, melodies, vibes, and culture.

Years later, I still had this influence in mind when I bought my audio interface and first midi controller to start producing my own beats.

After 5 years into the craft, I'm happy to be able to manipulate sounds, flip samples, compose drum beats, and mix it all to make this kindda remixes.

Comment BATTLECRY to get the link to listen to the remix.

Let me also know in the comments if you can guess which track I've sampled on this one 💬👇 by @beatsbywalden
