BSD families are invited to "Building Healthier, Stronger Communities Together," a conversation with a panel of experts on how to strengthen mental health, prevent substance abuse and get connected with resources.

The event is open to all BSD families on Wednesday, October 7 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Aloha-Huber Park K-8. Child care, dinner and bilingual programming (English & Spanish) will be available. by @beavertonsd

Congratulations to Andy Phillips, Custodial Foreman III at Mountainside High School, who has been selected as a BSD Achiever for September. BSD Achievers is a program that recognizes the hard work and dedication of BSD staff members. Each month, three honorees are selected from nominations submitted by students, parents/guardians, staff and Beaverton community members.

As stated in his nomination: “When Mountainside High School experienced a fire last May, Andy was instrumental in ensuring a successful emergency response.

Andy knew the building so well that he was able to instruct the fire department on where critical systems were located, without being able to go inside and show them. He had to explain, in extreme detail, so the fire department could be as efficient as possible.

Andy kept his composure the entire time and was able to pivot without missing a beat. Andy has set a new bar for what it means to be a building foreman in the Beaverton School District.”

Well deserved, Andy!

It was such a pleasure to spend time with some of our PTO volunteer coordinators this morning.

Our volunteers play a vital role in our district. They not only bring our community into our schools to support our students and staff, but they also serve as incredible ambassadors—sharing the wonderful things happening in our classrooms with the broader community.

Volunteering is one of the most powerful ways to stay connected and actively engage with your school community. I am so grateful for their leadership, generosity, and shared commitment to our kids!
