Didn't wanna post birthday get-together photos until after my birthday, but I'm now 22 so enjoy us (and some variable other chaos from my first month with a tube free face).

Id: 4 femme wheelchair users at a train station. Imogen has long hair split brown on top, blonde underneath and waters baddy patterned jeans and a ripped style jumper. Nico has shoulder length pink hair in a slightly grown out jellyfish cut and is wearing an Enter Shikari hoodie, jeans and strawberry shortcake heels. Bee has jaw length dark pinky-purple hair and is wearing a lilac button down dress and beat up purple docs. Charlie has long died red hair in Dutch braids, green dungarees and black docs.

Dawlish sea wall! The people pictured on the last slide smile at the camera. Bee and Imogen are sat on a brick wall with a red cliff behind. Imogen has removed their jumper, revealing a black cami top. Nico and Charlie sit in front of the wall in their wheelchairs. Their hair is being blown by the sea breeze. Quin, Paris and Reu are out of frame but obviously a massive part of spending time together!

I looked hot this day but thus is the only photographic evidence lol.
A selfie of Bee, Charlie and Imogen at a different train station. Bee has purple face glitter around their eyes and cheekbones wearing a black cami top and blue shirt tied at the bottom. Charlie is wearing their standard blue sweatshirt with a wheelchair backrest of their lap. Imogen is wearing the outfit described on slide one.

A similar setup to slide 2,but a cross-country train speeds past, blocking view of the red cliff and Bee, Charlie and Imogen have their tongues stuck out, Nico is giggling.

View from the wall!

A photo of gently wavy turquoise sea with a bright blues sky gently scattered with clouds.

My fave solution to too manyh mobility aids on a gwr lol.
Bee is sat on the top shelf of a GWR luggage rack, their chair is underneath them connected to them by feeding tubing. Bee is smirking holding a small toy cow.

My actual birthday! And eventually my discharge day after a week of ivabx.

Late May/June so far.
Adventures with some of my favourite people and chaos as always with Charlie (sorry!). Looking forward to the rest of this month's adventures.

Image despcriptions:
Images 1-3 are photos of Bee and Evie. Bee is in their 20s and is femme with short purple hair, purple glasses and a nasal feeding tube in an active manual wheelchair. Evie is in her late teens, she is femme and has mid-length blonde hair, brown glasses and uses a pink tilt-in-space manual wheelchair in some photos and a white custom electric chair in others. In the first photo, Bee and Evie are sat next to each other smiling at the camera in front of a lake, their outfits are casual t-shirt/hoodie and simple bottoms. They are wearing the same outfits in the second photo, a selfie inside Evie's wav. The third photo is of Bee and Evie in different casual outfits sat together holding cocktails and smiling at the camera.
Images 4-8 are of Bee and their younger cousin and Granny, celebrating their Granny's 80th birthday.
Bee's cousin is a pre-teen bot will blonde hair, most of his face is obscured for privacy. Bee's Granny is 80 and has a chin length silver-grey bob. In image 4, Bee is sat on a vintage train with a curate stand of scones visible in the foreground, they are wearing a green button-front dress and their glasses are off, they smile at the camera. In image 5, Granny is smiling at the camera on the same train, holding up half a scone loaded with clotted cream. Granny is wearing a blue long-sleeve top, and white and bke scarf and a cream gilet. Image 6 is of Bee's cousin, he is sat in a multi-coulored fleece on the same vintage train with the vintage station visible in the background. He smiles over a table containing China teacups and a vintage lamp at his Granny.
Photos 7 and 8 are taken in a restaurant, 7 shows Bee and Granny sat at the table with their arms around each other, smiling at the camera. Granny wears the same shirt and gilet with a different dark blue scarf and Bee is wearing a navy linen button-front dress. 8 shows Bee's cousin grinning with a large plate of gammon egg and chinos in front of him wearing a blue fleece.

Hi! I'm Bee.
I have slightly more determination than is good for me and a hell of a lot of passion for the things I care about.
I've been posting about sport a lot lately, and while I truly love sport (and truly love my degree) nothing compares to how much I love my village.
Sometimes life isn't about big achievements, it's just sitting with someone you love.
Here are some of those people. by @bee.wman

Ran a marathon! Raised over £2,000! Screamed my head off continually. Still hit a few ankles. Lost my castor/screw 4 times. Fell on the floor once. Had a great time and had so much support!

9. The Whizz Kidz reception with Joel, Quinn and Nico
10. What my face looked like most the way round screaming "wheelchair coming through" at the top of my voice

20 miles down in 3:09 on watch, 3:12 by the gun. Not an award winning time, but 6mins/km is good enough for me!
Just 6 more miles (and about 1 month!) to marathon.
I felt like I could have kept going today so I'm feeling more confident. Every time I do a longer race I go in seriously not knowing if I'll do it, I did it!
The course was undulating (you can see being me in the 2nd pic) with a couple of steep spots and I did pace to energy (which is not how I 'd run w a runner) but all in all I'm pretty happy with that. taken in Oulton Park Race Track by @bee.wman

Half done in 2:09 (2:15 if you count reattaching my castor)
It was both our first time running a distance together and my first time running w an abled, which I was a bit worried about bc my pace naturally varies more with gradient, camber and texture than a runner's. I think it went really well!
Now just to double the distance (and with more difficult terrain) next month by @bee.wman

Hi! Life is strange and however you feel about it is valid. Here's some thoughts - CW reference to poor medical care.
A year ago tomorrow, I was booked to see Mason Alexander Park in Much Ado about Nothing with Hayley Atwell and Tom Hiddleston. I was admitted to hospital for malnutrition and dehydration on January 20th (for what was at least the 7th time in 6 months) and I was determined that this time I would receive treatment and make it to the show. On Feb 27th however, I was in the back of an ambulance being transferred a different hospital over 130 miles away and in a worse state than I had been admitted. The last month had been living hell.
It's now a year later and 11 months ago I was discharged from hospital with the care and treatment I needed and I'm thriving at a different university closer to my home and my care team. Today, I travelled to London alone to see Mason in Oh, Mary!. It's healed and broken something in me all at once. What I went through in order to survive all too common. It shouldn't be. I am so lucky to be where I am today but I had so many opportunities and experiences taken from me and so much lasting trauma. Compared to some my experience was easy, many people have years or decades stolen from them or lose their life due to medical malpractice.
Anyway, the show was brilliant! Silly, well put together and the acting was incredibly visual and easy to follow even with pretty shit hearing.
It's been a weird day and while I'm delighted to have seen one of my favourite performers, I'm also so angry knowing what could have been. And that's okay, grief and trauma tinting the good times and gratitude marking the mundane are just parts of the life we live.

Ps. Not to say I'm not grateful to the NHS, but the system is not set up for us and so many professionals seem to disbelieve patients with complex disorders, at times risking our lives from things that can be treated of prevented. by @bee.wman

LONDON MARATHON 2026
If I'm being entirely honest, I'd been avoiding posting about this until we had a plan re: my shoulder. Anyway he's given my 6mo before surgery and I told him that I was gonna run a marathon in the meantime. He thought I was joking. I wasn't. Since that conversation last week I've done 2 training days, an 8k and a 27k. Therefore I'm confident in saying that in April I'll be rolling the London Marathon for Whizz Kidz, to support young wheelchair users like myself have access to life and activity again. My fundraiser is in my bio.

What have been doing in the month I turned 21 I hear you ask. Well, first I won the wcmx world's (alongside the amazing @tomaswcmx, making both World champions Brits with EDS), then I moved into a new uni and submerged myself in 2nd year, then I ran (rolled) my first distance race (the 26k Chester Metric Marathon) this weekend by myself and I finished it! (even if the last 6k took longer than I care to admit).
My next aim is to run the 2026 London Marathon in April and my fundraiser for that is now open in my bio! I'm running for Whizz Kidz who provide mobility equipment for disabled children. by @bee.wman
