1) Syd (a white mid size non binary person with short red hair) is in their powerchair, dressed in a back coat, fishnet tights and rainbow leg warmers.they have rainbow jewels above their eyebrows and gothic makeup. They have a black catheter bag with moths on it. They're next to Bee (a white non binary person with short curly purple hair who has a nasal feeding tube) who is in their manual wheelchair and has shorts and a black cropped shirt. They have a blue catheter bag with butterflies on it.
2) Syd in his wheelchair, you can see he's got a cropped vest on with red writing, a rainbow chain necklace, a rainbow earring with lighting bolts on and their cat is sitting on their lap (who is a large tabby).
3) Syd again in the same outfit minus the cat. You can see he has black platform boots.
4) Bee in the same outfit but their shirt is undone to reveal a white t-shirt with a rainbow heart on. They have a large pug sitting on their lap.
5) Syd (now in a black ripped top and black trousers) and Bee (now in a black t-shirt and blue jeans) posing for a photo next to someone in a Bee costume.

Today is FND Awareness Day 💙

Living with Functional Neurological Disorder isn’t something you can always see, but it affects every part of my life. Some days my body doesn’t cooperate, symptoms can change without warning, and things that once felt simple can take so much more energy and strength.

FND is real. It’s neurological. And it deserves to be understood.

For me, it comes with so many different symptoms, and they don’t always make sense or stay the same. That unpredictability is one of the hardest parts. I also live with other health conditions alongside FND, but this is definitely the one that feels the most misunderstood.

It’s impacted my day to day life in ways I never expected from needing more support, to hospital stays, to learning how to adapt just to get through “normal” days. Some days are about just getting by, and that’s okay.

No two people with FND experience it in the same way, and that’s part of why awareness is so important.

Raising awareness matters because so many people are still misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or made to feel like their symptoms aren’t valid. They are.

If you’re living with FND too, you’re not alone 🤍

Today is International Wheelchair Day ♿️

Becoming a wheelchair user is something that completely changed my life. It’s hard in ways people don’t always see — the accessibility battles, the stares, the exhaustion of advocating for yourself just to exist in spaces that weren’t built for me.

There are days it feels hard. There are days it feels unfair. And there are days I miss the version of life I thought I’d have.

But.

Being a wheelchair user has also given me so much. It’s introduced me to the most incredible people and friendships I wouldn’t trade for the world. It’s pushed me into new sports, new challenges, and new communities. It’s made me stronger, louder, and more unapologetically myself.

Most of all, it gave me my freedom back. My chair isn’t something that holds me back it’s the reason I can live my life, go where I want, and do the things that matter to me.

So today isn’t about sympathy it’s about pride. Pride in adapting. Pride in surviving. Pride in building a life that looks different, but is still full, authentic , and mine. A wheelchair is shown on a boat deck with a person holding a smartphone. The image is captioned "Happy international wheelchair day!".
