Last year, someone asked me, “What’s your goal?”
And without hesitation I said, “I want to be nominated for the Queen City Awards and actually win.”

Last night, I realized I spoke that into existence.
Who would’ve known that just one year later I’d be standing here as the 2025 Poetry In Motion Award WINNER‼️

Thank you Big GOD‼️
Thank you to my family, blood and chosen‼️
My friends, my supporters, my fans, my coworkers, Kevan Glover, and the entire Queen City Awards team‼️
And every single person who believed in me enough to vote, THANK YOU‼️

This journey hasn’t been easy, but God has a way of providing, protecting, and positioning you, even when you’re surrounded by challenges or counted out.

If you ever needed a sign not to give up, baby, I AM IT.
Stay consistent, believe in yourself, and when adversity shows up… go even harder‼️

HURRY UP AND BOOK ME…… 🙏🏾

2 years ago, I could only “DREAM” of the impact I’d be making today. But understand something… YESTERDAY’S PRICE AIN’T TODAY’S PRICE! 💯

And that ain’t arrogance. That’s what happens when you put in the WORK, invest in yourself, stay consistent, and stop waiting for somebody to hand you an opportunity!

To every Spoken Word Artist I know, I genuinely pray you NEVER stop chasing your dreams. But understand, your gift might open doors, but your WORK ETHIC determines how long they stay open!

Hone your craft. Support the Artist in your community. Show up when nobody’s watching. Put in the hours when nobody’s clapping. Stop waiting for validation and start giving people a REASON to pay attention!

Don’t just talk about making an impact. BE THE IMPACT‼️ Not just in your city, not just in your community, but across the WORLD! 🌎

And one thing about me? I’m rooting for EVERYBODY who’s willing to put in the WORK!

I BELIEVE IN Y’ALL! But you gotta BELIEVE IN YOURSELF enough to DO THE WORK! ✍🏽❤️

October is looking real promising✨✨

My calendar is being filled up and I’m looking forward to these performances coming up‼️

I’m only local for one event and everything else is out of town.
We’re booked and we’re busy!!🙌🏾🙌🏾

If you’re in the area.... PULL UP. TAP IN. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ARTIST AND ARTIST IN GENERAL. SUPPORT THE VENUES. ✨

A lot of hard work goes into creating spaces and opportunities for our community to come together, connect, and have something to look forward to. 🥰

So when you see events happening in your community, show up, show love, and support the people putting in the work to make it happen.🫶🏾

Check the flyer for where I’ll be this month. Grab your ticket when one is required, tell a friend, bring somebody with you, repost this flyer, share it to your story, send it to somebody who needs to know where I’ll be.🩷🩷

Last night, I had the honor of being part of the very first Creative Room, a space created to bring creatives of all kinds into one room to connect, collaborate, share ideas, and simply remind each other that there is room for all of us.✨

Hosted by @ajokestrr and @angel_jhane , this inaugural gathering was filled with intentional conversation, a powerful panel discussion, new connections, and reminders that sometimes you just have to DO IT.

Do it scared
Do it nervous

Just do it!

The conversation around community, collaboration, creativity, and taking that first step reminded me why I love what I do so much. 🥰

Thank you to everyone who showed up, connected, listened, encouraged, and shared space with me. Thank you to the panelists @makaylabinter_ of @cltiscreative and @tdimery_creates for adding your voices to such an important conversation. Thank you to @naturalescenes for capturing the moments, and a special thank you to @ajokestrr and @angel_jhane for trusting me to be part of the very first Creative Room.✨🫶🏾🫶🏾

They say if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.

Well…

I’m working my ass off so one day I never have to work a day in my life again. 😂

“Working on the weekend like usual.” 🎶

And honestly… that’s really me. 😂 I stay working, stay building, stay creating.

But this picture gave me goosebumps all over again. Standing in front of that room, sharing my words, then having people pull me aside afterward to tell me how much they enjoyed my poetry and my book… yeah. I’ll never get tired of hearing that. 🥹🖤

And can we talk about this VENUE?! 😍 The atmosphere was beautiful. A deli/bakery by day with a hidden speakeasy tucked inside? Yeah, I was here for ALL of it.

Big shoutout to the owners for creating such a dope space. I’ll be back! ✨ @piedmontgastonia

Your cousin’s favorite poet.
Your homegirl’s favorite poet.
Your rapper’s favorite poet. 😂
Your favorite poet’s FAVORITE poet.

“ Your Favorite Poet”

And if we’re being honest… I might be one of the hardest working poets you know. 👀

I’m writing.
I’m performing.
I’m traveling.
I’m selling books.
I’m stepping on stages.
I’m showing up.
Then I wake up and do it all over again.

Around the clock. All year long. Because this isn’t just something I do… this is the work I prayed for.

And now I need my people to show up for ME. ❤️‍🔥

I’m nominated for the Queen City Awards Poetry in Motion Award for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW! 🏆

So here’s your assignment:

👉🏾 Go to QueenCityAwards.com
👉🏾 Click the Voting tab
👉🏾 Enter your name, email & phone number
👉🏾 Scroll ALL the way down to Poetry in Motion
👉🏾 Find BPoetic
👉🏾 SUBMIT THAT VOTE. 🗳️

And don’t worry… I promise your phone number isn’t about to have you receiving calls about an extended car warranty. 😂😂

It takes less than a minute, but that minute means A LOT to me.

If you’ve ever heard me perform, bought my book, shared my work, booked me, supported me, watched me grow, or simply said “That girl can WRITE!”…

I NEED YOUR VOTE.

Let’s remind Charlotte who BPoetic is.

QueenCityAwards.com → Voting → Poetry in Motion → BPoetic

🏆 VOTE BPOETIC.
Because apparently I’m trying to collect another one of these things. 😂🫶🏾
