What makes an effective coach? 🧢
It’s not just knowledge of the game, but the mindset and perspective they bring to it.

Grateful for the opportunity to work with 3 batches of the @india.ultimate L1 Certification Program on building a mindset for effective coaching 🧭

Exploring how to respond to challenges, approach differences within a team, and motivate ourselves and others, is an important part of growing as a coach.

Here’s to building effective coaching mindsets and stronger sporting environments! 🥏

There's a version of you that walks into the hardest room of the year and feels completely steady.

The world's best performers aren't born calm. They train for it.

On Friday, 30 October, Dinners with Dreamers brings you an evening with Mon Brokman, founder of Behavioural Foresight @behavioural.foresight, who trains athletes, performers and leaders to stay unshakeable when the stakes are highest.

He came to India in 2016 with no plan. Ten days of Vipassana later, he found his life's work: staying calm under attack.

This isn't a talk you sit through. It's an evening you take part in.

A guided breath practice, the same one he uses with athletes before they compete

The story of the day his own composure failed, and what it taught him

A conversation shaped around the moments you'd love to handle better

You'll leave with a story, a technique you can use the very next morning, and a table of people who get it.

📅 Friday, 30 October · 7:30 PM
📍 MG Road, Bengaluru
🍽️ Rs. 2,000 per person · proceeds after costs are donated.

Just 12–15 seats. DM us or tap the link in bio to reserve yours.

Come as you are. Leave a little steadier.

A pretty special moment for us at Behavioural Foresight. 🤍
Hearing Pranavi speak about the mental side of her preparation and mention the work we’ve done together means a lot.
But this achievement belongs to you @pranavi_urs
The athlete is the one who has to show up, practise the skills, sit with the nerves, make the decisions under pressure, reset after difficult moments and ultimately perform when it matters.
We’re simply grateful to have been trusted with a small part of that process.
Congratulations, Pranavi. What a moment. 🇮🇳🥇

Behind every strong finish is a nervous system that knows how to wind down, and that’s a skill.

At the camp, building endurance and recovery looked like:
→ Awareness & activation
→ Rhythmic Breathwork & movement
→ Gamified motor-cognitive training
→ Guided relaxation

Multiple tools. One goal: Helping performers recover as intentionally as they train.
Because what you do after the effort determines what you’re capable of for the next push.

Grateful to have been a part of the Royal Enfield Himalayan Base camp @royalenfield

Preparing for pressure is not always about imagining everything going perfectly.

In this conversation, we explore a different approach: deliberately visualizing the parts of an upcoming situation that trigger stress. A difficult question in a board meeting. Walking into a room full of people. The moment when something goes wrong.

The idea is to rehearse the reaction, not just the outcome. You may notice your heartbeat increase or your body tense up while imagining it. Repeating that exposure in a safe setting can help reduce how strongly you react over time.

The misconception is that positive visualization alone prepares you for pressure. It can help, but preparation also means thinking through what might actually challenge you.

The practical takeaway: before a high-pressure event, mentally rehearse the difficult moments too. Then practice staying steady through the reaction instead of trying to avoid it.

Save this if useful.

Sometimes your body reacts to a situation you are not even experiencing anymore.

In this conversation, a simple thought about a stressful work experience was enough to trigger a visible change in the body’s stress response. Nothing in the room changed. The situation was not happening again. The thought alone was enough to bring the reaction back.

That matters because we often replay difficult conversations, deadlines or past experiences throughout the day without noticing what they are doing to us.

The misconception is that mental stress is somehow less real because nothing physical is happening. Your brain can respond to a perceived threat even when the threat is not immediately in front of you.

The practical takeaway is to notice when you are repeatedly returning to the same stressful thought. You may not be solving the problem anymore. You may simply be reactivating the stress response.

Save this if useful.

What if pressure does not always reduce performance?

In this conversation, we explore why some elite athletes perform better when their body is highly activated. A faster heartbeat, higher intensity and strong emotions do not automatically mean losing control.

For some athletes, that state can become a performance trigger. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, they enter a focused “go mode” where decisions become clearer and they commit fully to the moment.

The misconception is that everyone performs best when they are calm. In reality, the ideal performance state is different for each person. Some need quiet focus, while others thrive with higher intensity and energy.

The goal is not to remove pressure completely. It is to understand the state where you perform at your best and learn how to access it intentionally.

Save this if useful.

Multitasking is not always the problem. Unconscious multitasking is.

Doing multiple things at once can sometimes be a deliberate choice. You may accept being less than perfect at several tasks because the time saved creates space for something else that matters.

The problem starts when we assume we can give 100% attention to everything simultaneously. Our attention has limits, and constantly switching between tasks can reduce efficiency and increase mental fatigue.

The misconception is that everyone should work the same way. Some people thrive with variety and movement between tasks, while others perform best with long periods of deep focus.

The practical takeaway is to understand your own attention patterns. Know when multitasking helps you and when it quietly reduces the quality of your work.

The goal is not to eliminate multitasking. It is to choose it consciously.

Save this if useful.
