We are pleased to announce On Connection, running from the 1st to the 14th of October.
This show emphasises the importance of intimacy and the necessity of care, compassion and community.
Each artist brings their own exploration of the intricacies and nuance of connection, giving ode to the overlapping journeys through life we share with one another; reflecting on kinship, trust, intended action and shared experience.

Opening Night is on the 1st of October and will feature an interactive tandem bike experience, as well as art prints and zines available for purchase. Free entry, refreshments provided.

"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."

I‘ve been inactive online for a while so I’m quite late in sharing this - but my work is currently showing at The Lock-Up for their annual fundraising exhibition COLLECT.
On show until June 12th.

My work’s still available for purchase via the Lock-Up’s website, If you’re interested :)🫧 taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @bel_l_as

I’ve been absent for a while, struggling to function let alone create, but I feel as though I’m slowly getting back into things and finding more strength in just being productive in everyday life and to make the art I want to make.

Here’s an image I took on my dads first camera a 35mm Fujica ST801, of my Nanny’s quaint home in Belmont, the home she’s lived in for the majority of her life, the home my mum and her siblings all grew up in, the home I would frequently visit and be looked after in as a baby.

It has hardly changed from how I remember it from when I was little. Yet the dog no longer comes running to gate and my jummy (grandpa) no longer sits in his chair in the corner of the dining room.

My Nanny is 95, blind, deaf and has been living alone for 13 years now.
She’s one of the strongest, independent and most resilient woman I know. A light that never dulls, she will always hug you with her soft flickering hands and kiss your cheek hello and goodbye.

Many memories fill that home, ones that I hope to never forget.

I wanted to document aspects of my Nanny’s home and mother’s childhood home - I’ll be sharing more photographs later of this special home.

‘Stacked’ 2019, Bella Snape.
The Lock Up COLLECT exhibition is live! Curated by the wonderful @wednesdays 🧡
All works in the show can be viewed and purchased via The Lock Up’s website.
It’s a weird time for artists (and all) right now, and The Lock Up has come up with a great way of showcasing local artists works while keeping everyone safe.
You can also book to see the show in person (safety measures are in place ofcourse).
Feeling so lucky to be apart of such a great show with so many incredible artists I look up to.
