@davido was one of my first major introductions to Nigerian music as a kid along with Fela Kuti, Olamide, and Flavour. Music is what brought me back home🇳🇬 Brooklyn got Talib, Compton got Kendrick, Houston got Tobe🙏🏾 @tobenwigwe Being from Houston and in the middle of the transition from boy to man, discovering truths and lies about life, Tobe’s journey was one of the most inspiring journeys to witness. Daalu, nwanne m nwoke🇳🇬 I have Afro, Asian, and European heritage. I have musical, spiritual, and cognitive gifts. I have lived in Korea, grew up in the US, and heavily influenced by Mexico. I spent most of my life trying to shut down the “jack of all trades” narrative and sit in just one place due to fear of judgement or total acceptance but over the years I’ve realized that I don’t have to be a master at one because being great at many, makes me a master singly. Now I unapologetically embrace all areas of my multifaceted life. That’s Liberty🤍 by @bellosings

Liberty was a true gift from above… although it’s my hands that wrote it and voice that sang it , it’s the Spirit that brought it to life. Liberty is a reflection of our times, our survival, and the journey towards our freedom. As artists we are history markers and the voice for the voiceless… no matter what, the message must remain the same. #liberty #bello #afro #nigeria by @bellosings

“No woman should ever have to defend herself against a man, that’s for another man to do” - Bello “In order for a good guy to win, he must be capable of defending and fighting better than a wicked man. The only difference between an evil man and a good man is the heart. Don’t have to be nice, just be good” - Bello #cornell7 #womensrights #america #dobetter by @bellosings

Happy 50th Anniversary to one of the greatest albums of all time!💛 This timeless masterpiece has moved generations and has brought the world together in ways that can’t be explained. It was literally the foundation of my childhood along with all of Michael Jackson’s music. Anyone who knows the name “Stevie Wonder”, knows that light, love, and a legacy that one can only dream of, follows right after! When we sat and talked again last , he gave me a duty and responsibility as a young artist to lead from the front and I refuse to let that go in one ear and out the other… he spoke nothing but life and strength and told me what he saw from me. I always aimed to listen to my elders growing up but It is beyond belief that I’ve been blessed to have shared moments of wisdom like this with one of the greatest ever in musical history!✨ Happy 50th anniversary to Songs In The Key Of Life and a big thank you to Uncle Stevie🤞🏾🧡 by @bellosings

“Feliz Dia de la Independencia”🇲🇽 but what is independence if we all are still not free from the tyranny. Our Mexican brothers and sisters being deported just because of how they look, pregnant mothers losing their children from neglect and abuse, children being detained as if they were criminal adults, children being impregnated under ICE custody. What does independence mean!? I don’t want the delusion of freedom… the presence of equality on paper but still leaving the people powerless and oppressed… This past year I became less publicly vocal than I have been over the years and more hands on with the fight for justice but our voices are still powerful and my conviction is just as strong as ever. We have to speak up for ourselves every chance we get. This is a short 10 min play that was written and directed by @jacob._.steph and myself ( @bellosings ) last Summer. We must never get tired of caring and never get caught up in our own lives that we forget about those just trying to live. Peace and Love🙏🏾🌹 Cast Koob - Elizabeth Georgieff Spills - Owen Toledo Sezy - Yasodhara Barbara Semont Hitch - David Bongóngo Tino - Yash Nainani by @bellosings

Back in 2022 I was invited to @macklemore ‘s Pool Party for his new album✨ I’ve been around so many high profile people throughout my life that if I wasn’t so full of conviction and love for authenticity, and the desire to do it in a way that still pleases God. I probably could’ve been “made it”. But how you get to be there is what you gotta do to stay there. I care about my reputation in Heaven more than I care about my status on Earth. One thing I’m grateful for though is being able to read a room long before anyone can understand what’s going on (that’s that Holy Spirit) because as much fake that I’ve had to sift through, my discernment be on point and I knew Macklemore was a legit genuine dude. Macklemore cares about the art, his fatherhood, and the people. You can’t cancel someone who connects with what will never cease to exist. A lot of people talk but none of us know who we are until we get challenged and tested with what matters most. As artists we are the voice for the voiceless. Macklemore got his stripes in history. We should never put a privilege or a price over a life. You should never be so committed to a group, organization, or belief that you overlook dying children. So to the ones who are choosing to be artists, know your message. The ones who want a million followers, know where you’re leading them. And in a world full of “if I could”, “if I had”, and “if I did”… just do what you can with what you have.
