I thought I’d share some of the new brand elements with you guys! I wanted the branding, and the new website to feel nostalgic, warm and romantic. I really love the way the thread is woven throughout the website, the way a seamstress works thread into something that lasts. It’s symbolic of the way photographs become family heirlooms. Crafted with intention, held for generations! It’s been a mammoth amount of work, and honestly - the work is not yet completely done - but I think it’s worth it 🤍 I hope you like it! I am convinced that our connection with each other is what gives life fullness 🤍… I love that the beauty of life is not just in the big moments, but also the little ones…Life creates such beautiful pictures and I am simply choosing the perspective! As a photographer, I see my part in your life as more than just taking your photographs! Welcome to my studio! I love this space so much and have designed it to include everything we need for your newborn shoot. Your newborn session may be your first time out of the house with your new baby, which can feel like a daunting excursion - I remember that feeling all too well! The studio has been thoughtfully designed making the experience a breeze for new parents. Conveniently located in downtown Toowoomba, I have onsite parking right outside my door and great coffee just across the road. Inside, I like to think of my space as an extension of your newborn bubble – somewhere you feel at ease and at home. The studio is spacious (and toddler-friendly), yet cozy and warm, with lots of gently diffused natural light (very flattering for photos!), and comfortable neutral-toned furniture. My clients are most welcome to make use of my client wardrobe full of gorgeous, flowy gowns that help women feel beautiful and feminine, and yes, it even includes clothes for the dads! I also have lots of print product samples on hand so you can see and feel the quality of professional printing. ~ The tenderness of fatherhood ~ I find the juxtaposition of this statement so incredibly beautiful… As I see it, strength and softness aren’t opposites. A good father is both, and he knows which one the moment calls for. He’s the protector, yet the one who gets down on the floor to play. He’s the calm in the chaos, the one they look up to. He’s firm when it matters, and endlessly patient when it counts. That’s the contrast I love most about true fatherhood🤍Strong and gentle, Tough and tender. These are the moments I’m always hoping to capture. ~ Older babies ~ Do I photograph older babies - yes!! Of course💛 They may be more wakeful, or need milk breaks, but I’m so here for it! You’re also more likely to capture their personality! Babies don’t keep - they change SO much in that first year - invest in the photos 💛 The only photos you’ll regret are the ones you don’t take! Welcome to BELOVED by Amy! This has been a long time coming, after a season of sitting with who I am and how I want to show up for the couples, families, and newborns I photograph. My business has carried my name for years, but life (including my surname) has changed. It’s time for a name that feels more like me - and like you too, since you’re so much a part of this. More than a new name, it’s a renewed promise: that every session should be comfortable and joyful, where you feel seen and truly cared for, not just photographed. The journey to get here has had a few stop overs along the way. Originally, I loved the word “woven” - a nod to my mum and nana, both seamstresses who spent their lives turning thread into things made to last. It felt right for a business that follows a family through its most significant moments and milestones, each one another thread in the same story. You’ll notice threaded elements running through the brand’s visual design, in little features and textures. You’ll also see some gold running through it, inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold instead of hiding the cracks. This came out of a prayer from a sweet lady in my life, and felt so apt for the season I’ve been walking through. It’s how I think about the moments I love to photograph too: authentic, meaningful, and worth keeping exactly that way. Then “Beloved” landed one day. Out of nowhere! Amy means beloved. And isn’t that what every photograph says? You were here. You were loved. This mattered. Simple, but it’s everything I wanted to say.
