Emerging from our traveling social media break to celebrate the release of @awestfell’s Literary Voyagers! The perfect book for the wonderful Michigan fall day that I currently find myself in!

Relatedly, it was so great to meet so many wonderful bookstore owners/publishing folks at the recent Heartland Fall Forum! So many great conversations about this very book. by @beltpub

I love this map from the beginning of Literary Voyagers (publishing October 13!). Imagine spending a week on a boat in Lake Huron in 1837… not a trip for the faint of heart!

It shows the journey at the center of the narrative, Anna Jameson’s journey from Toronto to the Upper Peninsula, and back again.

In the summer of 1837, she departs from Toronto on a steamer before traveling over land to Chatham. She then takes a steamer to Mackinac, before making that long canoe/open boat trip up to the Sault and alll the way back to Penetanguishene. The whole journey takes just over two months (with a few extended stays here and there). by @beltpub

Joe Engleman wrote a really great review for our new edition of The Battle of Lincoln Park for @chicago_reader! Slide two is one of my favorite quotes… an accurate assessment of the continued relevance and appeal of this book. by @beltpub

Thank you to everyone who came out to one of our events last weekend (@printersrowfest and @literarycleveland’s Inkubator!)

Had so many conversations with longtime fans of Belt (and converted some new fans, hopefully). So many great reminders of why we all do this in the first place. We’re carrying your enthusiasm with us this week for sure!

Shout out to the Belt authors who stopped by the tables as well, great to see you all. by @beltpub

Big thanks to Brian O’Neill at @greatlakesreview for a really great review of The Pit (which has officially been on the shelves for two weeks today)! Brian does a great job laying out the contemporary appeal of the book and the world it depicts.

The photo in the background is one of many included in our Revival, showing State Street in 1900 (as described in the book)! by @beltpub
