Definitely meet your hero’s.

It’s not too often that your favorite band would come calling for you to work with them, but I had the honor to go on “tour” with @defleppard for two stops and their entire team could not have been more kind and amazing. I cannot be thankful enough to @musicmattersprod for the opportunity and the DL stage/FOH crew for letting me live out a fantasy. I felt like a kid on this show! My first ever rock concert I went to was Def Leppard & Poison. So to say that seeing that show 20 years ago inspired me to go into this career and now I’ve worked with Def Leppard and Brett Michaels on the same tour is a dream come true. All of the band members were so kind with the limited walk-by interaction I had with them and Rick Allen even stopped himself to talk to me as he was checking the crowd size. Yea, almost 50 years later and he still walks out to check how big the crowd is before they go on stage, ya gotta love the passion! Brett Michaels was also phenomenal. He stopped on his own to talk to and thank us for our work. So thankful for this event to have happened!!! Cole, Aiden, Michael, Mike, Tim, and Gabe, and of course, Joe, Rick, Sav, Vivian, and Phil, y’all were amazing! Hope to see you all again soon.

The Music Matters team truly killed it with this one from the prep to the final out!!! We provided the overhead rig for two shed shows. It was mostly @martinprofessional with some @germanlightproducts for the eye-candy.

In January of 2024 I was over at the apartment of this girl I met on Facebook Dating just a month or so earlier. She was stunningly beautiful, funny, kind, and had the best heart. Somehow I knew in that moment, she had to be the one God gave me to be my wife. So from across the kitchen counter I asked, “How do you feel about marriage?”… she laughed. Out loud in my face 🤣 Was my feeling of what I felt in my soul wrong!?! Nope. I prayed and asked God, “How?” And He just said back, “Love her.” So, every day, I loved her and prayed for her. Big gestures, small moves, hard talks, easy love. I guess I kept making her laugh, eventually to the point she had laughed the idea of never getting married out of her head. So on March 3rd 2025 I got on a knee and forgot to ask her to marry me. I told her how much I loved her and how good she was…. Then stood up ring in hand, surrounded by 1,000,000 butterflies. She’s said “Well!??” I stumbled back “Will you marry me!??” But somehow I knew I didn’t need to ask. I knew. I knew the whole time. And when I dropped to a knee her face did say yes. But now when? Numbers are such a beautiful thing. And they make it easy to remember anniversary’s! So if we got engaged on 3/3…. Why not get married on 9/9/2025(9). So we gathered up 60 of our closest friends and family and got married. And I couldn’t have made a better decision. Katherine, you truly are the most beautiful woman. You love me so well. Your growth into who you are has been such a pleasure to be a part of. You’re the best dog mom. Most amazing friend. Number One Fan of the ProPact USA Pile Drivers Hockey Club (and number 33). I am so incredibly proud to call you my wife. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. This first year gave us a fun one: a T-Pain Tour not even a month into being married, Moving a state away, Starting new jobs for both of us, And exploring Tampa to find the best sunset, all while making new friends. Night One I had a wild last minute thought as I was holding the set list ready to tape it down that I should draw on it. All that open white page space was yelling for a comical @sharpie drawing of T-Pain disco dancing. I had just spent two weeks watching him pour himself into this tour and watched him work his ass off for all of you so I just thought, what if in some small way I could make it a little more fun for him. Then at the next show he was asking “who did it? and that they better not stop!” So I kept going with the one pun about dancing and the state we were in that popped into my head. So I drew a Connecticut Connector Robot T-Pain… then it got way better from there. I started realizing that with 52 songs on the set list there were tons of puns and jokes right in front of me to draw. So the drawings got better, more involved, more aligned with the songs/cities/states/nicknames of where we were. I started asking the crew to vote on ideas, add quotes, thoughts, and before too long we had a whole system down. I had too much fun doing this. A quick little 5 min of my day where it wasn’t about lighting, missing my wife/cats/dog/home, where there wasn’t a load out plan being formed, truss being pinned, stagehands asking questions, it was just me in a corner being me. Trying to make Pain laugh just a little each night. And I really liked that moment of peace every night. Thanks Pain, I hope you enjoyed them all. My only regret: the Clearwater one should have been Pirate Pain saying “I’m trying to get u n dat booty!” by @benbrownld

Pain… thank you for this. I needed this tour. Out here I found joy, happiness, hard work, appreciation, support, team, friends, and a whole lot of fun! Such a great group to be a part of. You and your team are incredible. What a show, what a tour (in a trump voice) “Some might say the best tour of all time!” You took care of everyone and are truly a humble, kind, generous and loving man. Can’t wait to do it again!

When you’re getting married it’s best to find out your spouse’s minor inconveniences to you and come to peace with them. A sock left out, toothpaste in the sink, a water cup on the counter, a bed unmade, or every cabinet and drawer in the house being left open 24/7.
