@benchwarmerbar is closing down, today is their last day of trade. This is a sad day for Oishii — Benchies is where Oishii World was born, with Liam and Locky scheming away and wondering why there’s not a ridiculously good, dry rice lager in Australia yet (don’t tell us about Four Pines, we said GOOD). Anyway, we’ve got some Oishii Black kicking around and we’re selling it to YOU, our loyal customers, for (pretty much) wholesale price today only. So get a slab, it’s good gear. Despite surviving a pandemic-era opening, mounting market headwinds are forcing the West Melbourne bottle shop and beer hall to close.

While it’s too early to make any promises, owner Lachlan Jones hopes to bring Benchwarmer back in a different form one day, and plans to take the many lessons learned in this chapter forward into any future incarnations of the business. by @benchwarmerbar
