In the past year, Benicia PD has rallied behind friends, family, and members of our PD family - both current and retired- that have been impacted by cancer.

We recently teamed up with The Tim & Jeannie Hamann Foundation to sell our special edition Challenge Coins to raise funds to for the Foundation to help local Benicians that are going through treatment.

Though our current challenge coin honors those affected by every form of cancer, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we recognize and admire the strength, hope and courage shown by every person in the fight, as well as those in the support systems that surround them. by @beniciapd

Hopefully the bright color has grabbed your attention!!
We have seen an uptick of scams involving cash couriers, where people are handing over sums of money to couriers claiming to represent a company known to the 'giver.' NEVER agree to give money to someone you don't know personally. Also, protect your personal and confidential information and do not provide ANY details to someone that you don't know.
Every day the scammers get more and more creative and some are using AI (to simulate the voice of someone you know) to help scam people out of money!

If someone contacts you asking/demanding money - whether by phone/text or email - call Benicia PD. Our number is 707-745-3412 and we are here 24/7/365.

Please share this (print it out if you have to...) with anyone that might be susceptible to falling victim to scams (which is potentially everyone.) by @beniciapd

This week, as we reflect on the events of September 11, 2001, we honor the memory of the 72 law enforcement officers who lost their lives. It is hard to believe that 25 years have passed since that tragic day, and the 261 days of rescue and recovery that followed. The 2026 Benicia PD 9/11 Memorial was installed this morning and will remain up until next Monday. We invite you to stop by the police station and read through the 72 names listed on the board out front. Never Forget. by @beniciapd

While on patrol in the early morning hours of Friday, 9/4, officers noticed a vehicle park along Bayshore with the door open and freshly cut fiber optic cable laying near the open car. One suspect was immediately taken into custody, two suspects were located hiding in the brush, and one suspect ran from the scene. With the assistance of CHP Air and Solano County Sheriff’s K9 unit, officers located the fourth suspect inside the Valero property. Two vehicles associated with the theft were towed from the scene, and all four individuals (a 26-year-old male from Mill Valley; a 38-year-old male from Santa Maria; a 36-year-old male with an unknown address; and a 39-year-old male from San Pablo) were booked into the Solano County Jail. Once suspect had 3 no bail burglary warrants. At the site of the theft officers located a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and multiple burglary tools, including a Sawzall that was used to cut the fiberoptic lines. AT&T estimates the damage and loss to exceed $100,000. For more information on the arrest, visit https://benicia.citizenrims.com, and click on the “Arrests” tab. by @beniciapd

On Thursday morning, 8/27, we received a report that a mural in the downtown area had been vandalized during the preceding night. Using video from a downtown business along with our Flock ALPR technology, our detectives were able to identify the vehicle associated with the incident. This morning (8/31) our dispatch center was alerted by Flock that the car was within the city limits. During a search of the vehicle officers found a can of red paint under the front seat. The driver, a 24 year old male from Vallejo, confessed to the act of vandalism, and was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Solano County Jail. Incidents of vandalism that are intended to marginalize or intimidate people in our City will not be tolerated. Our Department is committed to the safety of all of our residents and our community.
