When I say I flew home to pick apples and hang with my favorites, that’s exactly what I did. Life is truly too short to miss each other 💕

1. For how tiny she is, still picks the fastest. Will be sending us dried apple chips in a few weeks
2. Shocked at the sheer size. Mutsu 🍏
3. Was pouring and my dad ran to get the van but then the rain suddenly stopped lol
4. Kept losing her
5. Can’t beat the fresh pressed cider and donuts
6. Quick stop in Saugatuck
7. HAUL
8. They’re the cutest 🥰

And a fun fact, Cranes is a Top 10 orchard in the nation (#8 USA Today).

For one reason or another, life never brought me back to nyc (not since I was a kid excited to ride the ferry and climb up to the crown of the Statue of Liberty). So last week getting to explore the city on my own as an adult was a really lovely experience. Beyond the great food, culture, and rich history, it was nice to have conversations with people who lived and breathed the city and have them reveal their version of home. It reminded me that 10 years this October will mark my move from Chicago to LA. It makes me wonder what type of person I would’ve become if I had chosen to move east instead of west. LA remains home and in some ways each new city I visit makes me love and appreciate my home and community even more. But I certainly can see how the lights/grind/chaos/magic of nyc could keep you there. I’ll definitely be back to visit more often! by @benitajoy

From the mean streets of Holland, MI to all the r&b and foodie hotspots of LA, wish my favorite leo @seraphina_l / @foodiephina a very big hbd. She once told me I was born on a conveyor belt in a tiny building next to the train tracks and I believed it for a few years. Her energy, it’s powerful. 👑 by @benitajoy
