When my Elisabeth was young, her Papa (Ralph Cohen) would tell her “You’re so smart, you’re so special, you’re so gorgeous”. Apparently, it struck a nerve with Lizzy, as she now gives Scottie the same praise. We miss you very much, Nana, Papa and Jojo. by @benkeithwebb

Last night, Elisabeth and I went to see the Nutcracker ballet at the Wortham Theater in downtown Houston. It was an excellent show, and the dancers were amazing. It also reminded me of Lizzy dancing for a pre-professional group named Uptown Dance Company, when she was younger. Joni and I were so proud of her efforts, and I wish that Joni was still with us to enjoy this wonderful time. Of course, we had to get baby Scottie a doll from the groups selling in the foyer. She obviously liked her doll!! Happy Holidays to all!! by @benkeithwebb

Lizzy, Scottie and I went to tell Joni “Happy Birthday” on her 70th. It was a beautiful cool day in Houston. I know that Joni would have been happy to see her girls. Happy Birthday, Jojo. by @benkeithwebb

Today, November 20, is Joni Cohen Webb’s birthday. Joni would have been 70 years old today. Joni and I were only 11 days apart. I turned 70 on the 9th. She would have told you that this was one of the reasons that we were soulmates. I miss her more than anyone can imagine. Happy Birthday, my sweetheart. I’ll see you on the other side, but not yet. by @benkeithwebb

Nellie is my best friend. Joni and I picked her up in October, 2022. We have been through a lot over the past year or so. But no matter what, Nellie is always there to greet me with her impish smile. Love you always, Nellie. by @benkeithwebb

As many of you know, the past year has been a tough one for me. I lost the love of my life unexpectedly, who also happened to be a pretty special gal. Love you always, Joni. by @benkeithwebb

Grandpa!! On Monday, September 16 at 10:12 am, Scottie Ford Duncan was born. She came in at a whopping 9 lbs. 5oz., a big girl!! Both Mom and Baby are doing well. I am so excited for Scottie, Elisabeth and Rob. They are now on the most incredible adventure of their lives. I am sad that my Joni wasn’t here to witness all of this sweetness. I miss her so much, but I also know that she is happy. Joni wanted to be a Grandma very much. She and Elisabeth would talk about it all the time. I’m not sure that this hole in my heart will ever close, but I know that Joni would want me to be a happy, active and loving Grandpa. And I will gladly do it!! Welcome to the World, Miss Scottie!! by @benkeithwebb

Here’s one of my favorite pics of Joni while she was writing an issue of Cotedetexas. She was “angry” at me because I took it while she had her cute hat on. Man, I miss that girl. Love you always, Joni. by @benkeithwebb

I still miss that cute smile and laugh every day. My move back to Houston will be finished later in August. I admit that I’ve had a hard time letting go of our little house near the beach. But since Elisabeth is due to deliver baby Scottie in September, I need to be there for both of them. Joni would want me to be a happy and active Grandpa. I’m very excited, but I still miss my Joni every minute of every day. She was a special gal. by @benkeithwebb

Well friends, the day has come for me to begin my move back to Houston. I am torn because of Joni’s longtime dream to live down here on the Island. But without her being here, it is just too lonely. Elisabeth’s pregnancy with the first grand baby makes it easier though. But still….. I’m sorry, Jojo. I still miss you every minute of every day. The final move will come in a few weeks. by @benkeithwebb
