Tétras lyre - Black Grouse - Korhoen

🇬🇧 Each male in the lek tries to take a central position. He shows off his trump cards, including his bright red wattles on his head and his white undercaudals surrounded by his black rectrices.
Fighting is most intense an hour before sunrise and then tapers off. But they spend a lot of time chirping and singing while parading and much less time fighting.

Black-headed Gull – Mouette rieuse - Kokmeeuw

Here’s a shot of our most common gull, which I started photographing in 2012 with my Nikon 200-400 F4 and my D300s! Well, this one was taken three generations of cameras later.
